I was adorned in a red saree with a sleeveless deep cut blouse. I've middle parted my hair and tied it up into a low bun. A simple set of diamond jewellery adorned my neck and ears. I selected this look for his birthday party today.

While his eyes will be stuck on me, I'll execute my plan. After all, I'm his wife so I need to give him his present, isn't it?

I scoffed.

Fixing the pleats, I walked out of the room to downstairs. Both of our families are already here and he'd come to the party directly from his work. He said he'd get ready at his office.

As I descended the stairs before finally stepping on the ground floor, my eyes roamed around the hall.

Guests are already arriving and the hall is almost full. While I was examining the hall, my gaze fell on his and my family.

Walking over to them, I touched the elders' feet and took their blessings. His grandma is still the same.

"How're you Ani? You couldn't even come to meet us. Are you okay now?", asked mami right away, concern was visible in her eyes.

I smiled, "Yes mami, I'm very well. I'm sorry I couldn't go but whenever I come again here, I'll for sure go and stay at your place. I'd have extended the vacation but Arnav won't be able to stay for longer and I also have some shows there in Paris."

She nodded, "It's fine. Just come whenever you wish. I miss my gudiya."

(Gudiya- doll)

I smiled when maa spoke, "Accha beta, Arnav kaha hai? Dikhayi nahi de raha?"

(Dear where is Arnav? I can't see him here)

"Maa he said he had some work. To woh kam niptake jaldi aa jayenge aur wahi se ready hoke aayenge bola unhone", I replied.

(So after quickly wrapping up his work he'll come back. He said he'd get ready there)

"He has to work on his birthday too?", asked papa with an annoyed face.

I chuckled, "Papa he said that it was important so he couldn't leave it."

He nodded.

"Toh fir aapki jagah kam se shadi kar lete bhai? Nahi bhabhi? Ab apni biwi ko time nhi de sakenge to kya fayda shadi karne ka itni sundar ladki se", spoke Aisha dramatically rolling her eyes. We all chuckled at her words.

(Then he should've married his work in place of you. Isn't it sister-in-law? If he can't give time to his wife then what's the point of marrying such a beautiful girl?)

After everyone got busy in their talks, I walked over to Aniket, Rhea and Maya di.

"How are you Rhea? When did you come back from USA?", I asked Rhea, who was standing beside Aniket. She was looking so grown up because I'm seeing her after three years.
