"Birdie", I heard a muffled voice but it felt oddly familiar. I've heard this sound. But I can say I hate it.

I moved my head, to get rid of something tight around my head but it felt like it was getting tighter. I tried to move but I wasn't able to.

I woke up with a sudden jerk when a sharp sting was felt on my nape. My wide eyes looked around me to perceive what was actually happening. I sat up on the bed, my breathing heavy as I rubbed the stinging place.

I looked up to find Nishant standing infront of me with a woman in a white coat kneeling beside me on my bed.

I frowned, feeling a bit drowsy.

"What did you do Nishant?", I asked, my voice slightly weak.

I wasn't able to see everything clearly because it was dark and moreover he was standing infront of me blocking the rays of light.

"It's nothing bird. Just some meds. You sleep for a few more minutes before you get ready", he spoke monotonously, motioning the doctor to leave before he took her place and sat beside me.

His face was close to me, his right hand tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"What should I get ready for?", I asked, not daring to ask further questions about the meds because he might force himself on me. And that'd be the worst scenario I'd like to see.

"It's our marriage today, birdie. You have been sleeping for 24 hours straight", he spoke so calmly and sweetly that I felt like puking.

My eyes widened at his words. What the fuck was he spitting out?

"What do you mean by marriage?", I asked, shock coursing through my whole body as fear accompanied it.

"No matter how much I hate to say it, but if you wish to act so innocent then I'll say it. By marriage I mean the relation you and your so-called husband have", he replied sarcastically, but the word husband provoked a deep sense of longing to see him, touch his face and feel him against me.

I miss my seductive manipulator.

Where are you Arnav?

I remained silent, staring back at him blankly when he continued, "I had enough mercy on you that day by just stabbing Marcia and not beheading her. I let you just see the consequences of your deeds. Thank me that I didn't make you cut her fingers and then slice her neck. Thank me for not letting her blood get on your skin", he gritted holding my cheeks in a tight grip.
