Life keeps giving me surprises when I'm not even over the previous surprise. Whenever I expect something, it's exact opposite happens. I was better alone in this battle but now, everything is ruined.
He knows everything now. From the smallest secret to the biggest one—he knows it all.
"It's true", I mumbled, looking down at the pictures. What'll I lie?
I can't lie to the ruler of the empire I'm bound within.
"Who is this?", he asked, pointing at the man in the picture.
I remained silent. I can't tell him like this about the man. I know he'd find out anyways but till he does, I'll have my work done.
I can't even deny or do anything that'd provoke him because he's not the calm Arnav. From last night, I know that this Arnav is a cruel one. He won't think twice before burying anyone with his own hands.
I remained silent looking down at the pictures.
Putting his forefinger under my chin, he raised up my head before locking his sake gaze with mine. I shivered at the intensity his gaze held.
"Answer me princess", he demanded again. This new nickname gives me goosebumps instead of butterflies.
"Why do you need? It's my business and I'll look after it however I want. You don't need to interfere", I spoke, raising up my voice as I stood up. Even though I was a bit terrified, I was getting frustrated too.
He stood up straight, tucking his hands inside his pockets before looking straight at me.
"It's not called interfering when the whole thing includes me and my family. And by my family, I'm including you too", he replied, anger flashing in his eyes.
"So? As you mentioned that I'm your family too, then let me handle the matter however I think it should be handled. You can look after your mafia business", I replied, mastering enough courage. My words were for sure triggering his explosive anger but surprisingly, he was trying to stay calm.
"I'm warning you princess, don't make me angry. You don't know what'll happen if you keep denying to tell the truth", he warned.
"I said you don't need to interfere. It's my matter and I've been handling it alone all these years. You fucking don't need to interfere. Get it inside your brain. And stop with this personality shit. You're scaring me", I yelled, my voice trembling towards the end as tears rolled down my cheeks.
I'm genuinely scared.
He scoffed, "Then why don't you say it already if you're scared? I'm trying not to hurt you princess. So better obey me and stop with this your business shit. I'm your husband and you better remember that before speaking", he raised his voice this time.
