"So, when do I get an invite to the Justice League?" Laurel asked her fiance as he entered the loft they shared.
"Why don't you ask me again after you've made your debut as Black Canary. We can't recruit heroes that don't exist yet and I don't know when the next membership vote will be, but I doubt it will be anytime soon." Oliver said.
"Didn't you tell me that the League is holding weekly meetings?" Laurel asked him.
"Yes, but still, considering that we just did a recruitment drive, the League probably won't be expanding again anytime soon. But can we please not talk about the Justice League. I'm ready to take a break from being Green Arrow, at least until we help Sara oversee the prisoner transfer next week." Oliver said.
"Fair enough. And your daughter would really like to spend some time with you, but if I were you, I'd start getting her autographs from the other Justice League members, especially Supergirl and Wonder Woman, since they seem to be her favorites, if only because she doesn't know Green Arrow is her daddy yet." Laurel said with a smile.
"She does, she just likes the girl heroes better. Especially since they have superpowers." Oliver said, not at all offended, since he wasn't sure he was the kind of hero his daughter should idolize. He preferred that she favored pure heroes like Supergirl.
"True. But speaking of girls." Laurel said with a smile as they heard the sound of little feet walking towards the steps.
"I see someone just couldn't wait for me to get home." Oliver said with a smile as he looked up to see Jasmine, who was supposed to be sleeping, trying to sneak down the steps.
"Daddy." Jasmine said, since now that she was busted, she didn't bother trying to be sneaky as she ran downstairs to see her father.
"Hey sweetheart. Someone should be in bed." Oliver said as he crouched down and scooped her up.
"I missed you." Jasmine said, since her father had come home a few times during the war, it had always been a quick visit and he'd never stayed for long.
"I missed you too and I'm not going anywhere. And I will definitely be here tomorrow to take you trick or treating for Halloween, since this is the first time I get to take you." Oliver said, since he'd promised Jasmine weeks ago that he'd be the one to take her trick or treating, since Laurel had taken her the past two years.
"You promise?" Jasmine asked.
"Pinky promise." Oliver said, holding up his pinky for Jasmine to shake, since he knew how seriously she took those promises.
"Pinky promise." Jasmine agreed, since she was really looking forward to this.
"Now, I think that if you want to go trick or treating tomorrow night, then it's time to go back to bed." Laurel said, since she loved how excited Jasmine was to have her dad take her trick or treating tomorrow night, it was past her bedtime.
"Will daddy tuck me in?" Jasmine asked her father.
"Absolutely." Oliver said as he carried her upstairs.
When he came back down, he found Laurel waiting for him.
"I thought it would take longer to get her to go down, since she's missed you almost as much as I have while you were gone." Laurel said.
"I didn't ask to have to fight that war, but you know why I did." Oliver said.
"I know. And I'm not saying you made the wrong choice, I know you made the right one. And I know you don't want to talk about the Justice League, but I have to know what it was like fighting alongside the world's greatest heroes and knowing that you're already considered one of them?" Laurel asked.
"It was a shock to say the least. I mean, I know Bruce is used to that kind of thing, but he's been doing this for years. I literally just started." Oliver said.
"And you deserve this." Laurel said.
"I don't know about that, but I did find out that Abby knows Supergirl and she outed me to her. Long story that I'm gonna confront her about after Halloween, since I already told Tatsu that she and John are covering this city tomorrow night, at least until I'm done taking Jasmine trick or treating, since this is the first time I get to take her and I'm not missing that." Oliver said.
"Good. But please don't be mad at my best friend, since Abby told me all about that and it sounds like Supergirl put it together herself, Abby just confirmed it." Laurel said.
"I'm not mad at Abby, if anything, I'm glad that she made allies with Supergirl before I did, since from what Bruce has told me, having a super on hand can come in handy considering the threats we might face." Oliver assured her.
"Good. And I hope you like Jasmine's costume, since one of the ways I dealt with my stress about you being gone was making it for her, with help from your mom's people. It's one of a kind, just like her. And I hope you aren't sick of Justice League members." Laurel said.
"I'm well aware of who Jasmine's going as and the real deal asked me to send a picture and told me that we're all invited to her wedding and I hope you don't mind that I invited her and the rest of the league to ours." Oliver said.
"Of course not. I was hoping you would. But on a different topic, before you got home, Thea called and said she was coming home for the weekend. Apparently she has something important to talk to you about before she brings it up with your mom." Laurel said.
"Perfect. It's been a long time since I've seen my little sister." Oliver said.
