"What time will they be here?"

"Any minute now," Vernon told me. Once we'd agreed to meet with the mage clan, everything moved pretty quickly. As we were the ones doing them a favour, they allowed us to select the venue. It had been a no-brainer to pick Seungcheol's club, The Closet. Not only were there many weapons stashed all over the place, but we also had wards covering every inch of the club, set by none other than yours truly. So, should any of them choose to be dickheads, I could simply stop them from leaving.

It wasn't a brag. I mean, it kind of was, but bar the one demonic duchess, no one had ever been able to shatter my wards. That made the club one of the safest places to be in Britain.

Next to Seokmin's house, that was. Nope. Not touching the reasoning behind that with a barge pole. It'd nearly killed me to leave him sleeping in bed this morning. I'd spent a solid two hours watching him sleep before dragging myself away to get him breakfast and pretty myself up for this meeting. As much as I'd wanted to stay until he woke up, I suspected that wasn't something he was ready for yet. The last thing I wanted to do was rush things. I had all of eternity to win this man over.

Speaking of Seokmin, my phone vibrated with an incoming message from the man himself.

Thank you for the coffee and pastry. Don't worry about falling asleep...although I'm sure Brie Larson is beside herself that you couldn't stay awake, so it's probably best you send an apology. I'm definitely up for continuing tonight if you're sure you don't mind being in my company again.

I saved his contact in my phone as Future Hubby. What? A demon could dream. I couldn't resist rereading his message. For someone who came across as so outwardly confident, he sure couldn't seem to help his insecurity slipping out around me. Which was beyond ridiculous. I mean, had the man seen a mirror lately? Whatever made him feel this way, I was going to get to the root of it and make him see himself the way I did.

Someone who deserved all the love and happiness in the world.

I tapped a quick response to him. Tempting as it was to go with an innocent and simple reply, I couldn't help but remind him that nothing was going to scare me away.

Stand to be in your company? My hun, if you don't put boundaries in place, you'll find me happily moving in. I want to spend so much time with you that there's possibly a restraining order in our future.

I hit send before I could second-guess myself. I'd promised Seokmin he'd get the real me, and this is who I really was. Hell, even this was a watered-down version. If my demon had his way, I'd cuff Seokmin to my side for the rest of eternity.

Seokmin's response was almost instant. Hm, we'll see if you change your tune after you've spent some more time with me. 7 p.m., okay?

My lips thinned. I didn't like that he thought so little of himself. As much as I wanted to get it into it now, we didn't have enough time before the mages arrived.

7 p.m. is perfect. I'll bring Chinese food. And I'm happy to prove your theory is bollocks by spending as much time with you as possible.

There. That would have to do for now.

I took a sip of my drink as I pocketed my phone. My instincts told me I didn't want to be distracted during this meeting. Vernon, myself, and Soonyoung sat on high stools at the bar while Seungcheol busied himself behind it. He couldn't seem to help himself, despite the fact it was closed and his only customers were his brothers. Although, could we really be called customers if we had no intention of paying? Not that money was a concern for any of us. Each of us had enough squirrelled away to satisfy even the most frivolous human for several lifetimes.
