Pond's POV

Pond lay awake in the quiet hours of the night, his mind restless despite the stillness around him. The weight of the confrontation with Phuwin's father hung heavily in his thoughts. For so long, his family had been a persistent source of pressure, demanding loyalty, obedience, and decisions based on duty rather than desire. And now, Phuwin's father seemed to mirror their expectations, determined to pull Phuwin back into the fold, to control him through threats disguised as "family concerns."

Pond's heart ached as he thought of Phuwin's resilience, the strength it must have taken to carve out his own path, away from those who sought to control him. He understood now, more than ever, why Phuwin had kept the twins' existence a secret. It was a desperate measure, but Pond could see it was rooted in love and a fierce protective instinct. And that same instinct stirred within him now, urging him to protect this family they were trying to build together.

He glanced around the dim room, eyes resting briefly on a photo of the twins on the nearby table, their bright smiles a reminder of the innocence at stake. They didn't deserve this—the threats, the tension, the looming danger. They deserved a childhood filled with laughter and love, not whispers of family obligations and control.

Taking a deep breath, Pond resolved that he wouldn't let anyone, not even his own family, stand in the way of Phuwin and the twins' safety. He didn't yet know what the coming days would bring, but he knew he was ready to stand with Phuwin against whatever challenges lay ahead.

The Next Morning

The first light of dawn had just begun to filter through the curtains when Pond walked downstairs, his resolve fresh and steady after the long night of reflection. Phuwin was already awake, seated in the kitchen with a cup of coffee in hand, his expression tired yet thoughtful. They exchanged a silent greeting, a shared understanding lingering between them from the conversation the night before.

As they shared a quiet moment, a sharp knock at the door broke the morning's calm. Phuwin's heart raced as he rose to answer it, already sensing the tension from the day before returning. He opened the door to find a delivery man holding a formal envelope, the emblem of his father's family sealing its contents.

Phuwin's hands trembled slightly as he took the envelope, his face pale. Pond stepped up beside him, his own eyes narrowing as he noticed the familiar symbol stamped on the wax.

They exchanged a look, both knowing this was no ordinary letter. Pond gently placed a reassuring hand on Phuwin's shoulder as they opened it together, bracing for whatever ultimatum awaited them inside.

Pond's gaze was heavy, his mind replaying the ultimatum from Phuwin's father as he stood alongside Joong and Dunk. The reality of the looming conflict felt like a weight pressing down on his chest. Joong had his arm around Dunk, their supportive presence grounding Pond as they stood together in silence, absorbing the gravity of Phuwin's father's threats.

"It's insane that he thinks he can control Phuwin like this," Joong said, his voice low with anger. "Trying to take custody of the twins—he's going too far."

Dunk, his usually calm expression darkened with worry, nodded in agreement. "This isn't just about controlling Phuwin anymore. He's using the twins to manipulate him. We can't let that happen."

Pond let out a slow, steadying breath. "We'll protect them, no matter what. But if we're going to face this head-on, I need to be prepared for everything my family might throw at us. They'll side with Phuwin's father if they think it will keep me in line."

Joong's eyes softened, his hand resting on Pond's shoulder. "You're not in this alone, Pond. We'll get through it together."

As Pond felt Joong's reassuring grip, he looked over at Dunk, who nodded with quiet resolve. The connection between Joong and Dunk was something he'd always admired—a bond of unwavering support and love. Watching the way they instinctively leaned on each other in moments of tension reminded him of the depth of his own feelings for Phuwin.
