Jimin's pov

Jimin sat cross-legged on his bed, a faint smile playing on his lips as he watched an ant crawl across his desk.

It moved aimlessly, navigating the bumps and folds in the wood. Slowly, he lowered a finger, pinning the ant under his nail with a quiet satisfaction. It struggled for a few seconds before going still, and Jimin's smile grew a little wider.

In the silence of his room, with the distant hum of the city below, Jimin felt at ease. Here, he was free to think, to let his mind drift without judgment.

His thoughts had a darkness to them, a sharp, cruel edge. But he found them...comforting.

****************

Once upon a time, he hadn't been like this. There had been a sweetness in him a softness that he barely remembered now. He had been a quiet, curious child, eager to learn, eager to please.

He remembered looking up at his parents with wide, hopeful eyes, trusting them. But he hadn't been what they wanted.

He was too quiet, too sensitive, too small. And he quickly learned that weakness wasn't tolerated.

Their voices echoed in his mind, memories he could never shake. Every insult, every slap, every sneer at his perceived

"failures" had carved itself into him, etching words of hatred into his psyche.

He remembered trying so hard to fit their expectations, thinking that maybe, just maybe, he could earn their love.

But each attempt was met with more ridicule, more punishment.

It twisted him, polluted him, until the sweetness was gone, replaced by something much darker.

Jimin leaned back against his pillows, his gaze fixed on the ceiling, the shadows dancing in the dim light. Now, he no longer cared for love, for acceptance. No, what he craved was control.

Control over himself, over others, over his life

Control over himself, over others, over his life. He never wanted to feel powerless again, to be at anyone's mercy.

His mind flashed back to that morning's encounter with Yoongi. That quiet boy with the timid eyes and uncertain posture. There had been a fragility about Yoongi, a kind of weakness that called out to him. Jimin wanted to reach inside Yoongi, to see how much he could break before Yoongi shattered completely.
