SYDNEY's POV

It is Leo season and my birthday is coming up. This will be my eigteenth birthday syempre kailangan slaaayyy. Sofia is the first one who turned 18 last December 31. Then Pauline at January 20 and Erika on March 9. They all celebrated their birthdays with elegance and of course a lot of party!

Lalo na ang birthday ni Sofia kasi ang dami niyang friends from La Salle and Ateneo pati mga classmates namin before sa Assumption and friends of friends pa. Sofia's party theme was a Wet 'n Wild party kaya pool and beach party siya and was celebrated at their rest house at Siargao. That was the first time that I got drunk so much and Wayne had to let me sleep on the couch kasi suka ako nang suka sa bucket. Ewww! Gross! Ayoko na maalala iyong part na iyon.

Pauline's birthday was celebrated at a vintage bar with art and music and some psychedelic things. No. Walang drugs na involve. Pauline's artistry nowadays is just psychedelic vibes with outer space, holographic colors, kaleidoscope and everything alike. It was loud with some music, she hired a DJ na crush niya. Lol. Idk what happened next sa kanila. But Pauline said lagi na silang magka-usap after that. Hmmm...

Then of course, Erika's birthday. It was like a fairyland. Her theme is somewhat nature kasi nga fairy. It was celebrated at Masungi Georeserve then Erika also had a donation drive for the georeserve, yes, makakalikasan talaga si Captain AmERIKA namin. It was really a masterpiece from the backdrop to the event itself, ang elegante. Mukha talagang fairy si Erika with her white gown na color changing and of course we wore fairy like dresses. It was very elegant, very lady-like and very demure.

Now it is my turn. I am looking for some inspirations in the internet and think of my sisters' debut. Kaso hindi ko na maalala. I was 4 when Ate Sygourney celebrated her 18th birthday so hindi ko pa talaga siya maaalala. Then Ate Sydel's 18th birthday, I was 9 at that time. I remember nothing too. Maybe she celebrated it, pero hindi ako kasama. Like maybe in a bar or something. So I don't know. And as far as I know Ate Syg did not celebrated her 18th birthday. We just had a getaway noong buhay pa ang parents namin, I saw it in our photo albums sa bahay.

"What's up?" tanong ni Wayne sa akin habang nagse-search ako sa internet kung ano ang pwede kong maging theme.

"Hey, what do you think can be my theme?" tanong ko.

"Theme saan?" he asked while removing his long sleeves.

"My 18th birthday." sagot ko.

"Hmmm, saan ka ba mahilig?" tanong ni Wayne.

"Arts? Music? Books? I don't even know what I really like. Thanks for asking." sarkastiko kong sagot.

"Do you want to go to Europe instead?" tanong niya.

"May pasok ako non." sagot ko.

"I see. How about magpaalam ka?" tanong ni Wayne.

"What if just a simple celebration. I realized I don't have that many friends to invite too." sagot ko.

"Why?"

"Cause hindi ako friendly?" I answered.

"So what's the plan?" tanong ni Wayne.

Ugh! Bigla na lang akong na-bwisit sa kaniya at hindi na siya sinagot.

WAYNE's POV

Oh snap! Hindi ko alam kailan ang birthday ni Sydney. Pagka-uwi ko galing opisina naabutan ko siyang nagbrobrowse sa internet nang theme para sa birthday niya. She will turn eigtheen and it is crazy to think that we have been married for almost two years now and we didn't even celebrated our first wedding anniversary. Parehas kaming busy, parehas din siguro kaming na-aawkward na i-celebrate iyon.

Nang pumasok siya sa CR para maligo, agad kong pinakialman ang computer niya. I opened her social media accounts and looked for her birthday. Damn it! Walang nakalagay! Bakit wala siyang birthday sa socmeds niya? I tried to look for some clues on her things pero mukhang wala akong mapapala until I think of an idea.

"Hello!" mahinang tawag ko kay Migz.

"Yow Bro!" sabi niya at mukhang nasa galaan ang loko.

"I have a favor to ask."

"Naks naman. Ikaw? Wayne Gamboa? Will ask me a favor?"

Nang-asar pa ang loko. Never kasi akong humingi nang favor kahit kanino. I always have my way on things. Ngayon lang ako nagka-ganito.

"Sure what is it?" tanong ni Migz habang pakinig ko ang malakas na tugtog sa background.

"Can you ask Sydney when is her birthday?"

"What?" tanong ni Migz.

Nakaka-inis nasaan ba kasi siya.

"Can you ask—"

Bigla kong pinatay ang tawag nang lumabas si Sydney nang bathroom. Kunwari nag-gagames lang ako sa cellphone paglabas niya at mabuti na lang hindi siya tumitingin sa akin. Napatingin ako sa computer kung nai-close ko ba ang tabs na binuksan ko. Muntik na akong maging giraffe sa paghaba nang leeg ko pagtingin sa computer. Mini heart attack, buti na lang naisara ko ang tabs. Muntik na akong mawala sa focus, nakaka-inis!

Hindi ko alam paano ang gagawin ni Migz pero sana lang tama ang makuha niyang impormasyon. Sabagay, matalino si Miguel kahit maloko kaya naniniwala akong kaya niyang gawin ang ipinapagawa ko.

"August 16" sabi ni Miguel pagkadating niya sa Forte Coffee House.

"Paano mo nalaman?" tanong ko at nag-cross arms. He smirked.

"I asked her."

"Gago baka—"

"Chill. Seems like legit kasi tinanong ko rin si Sydel."

"Kailan pa kayo naging close nun?" tanong ko.

"Kanina lang?" sagot niya.

Huh? Kakaiba talaga itong si Migz. Pa wirdo nang pa wirdo eh. At least ngayon alam ko na kung kailan ang birthday ni Sydney.

"So ano'ng balak?" tanong niya sa akin.

"Ha?"

"Kaya mo nga gustong malaman di ba? Ibig sabihin may surprise ka?"

"Well..."

"Come on, kung ano man iyan I am sure she will like it." sabi ni Migz at tinapik ako sa balikat saka tumayo.

"Paano mo naman nalaman kung magugustuhan ni Sydney?" tanong ko.

He clicked his tongue and winked at me saka siya nag-lakad palayo at nag-wave ng goodbye sa akin.
