Chapter thirty

Angel's POV

The girls didn't put up a fight and quickly went inside . The air was thick as nobody talked until Lucas spoke " Who did this ?" Lucas asked calmly but his clenched fists turning white gave him away .

" Lucas I -" " who the hell has been beating you all this time ! " Lucas shout angrily . Leona glared at me probably figured out that I was the one who told Lucas .

She bowed her head in fear and whispered " Nicolai " just when his name came out , Lucas aggressively kicked the nearest lounge chair making it fly few meters back . We finches at the sudden action .

He paced around and frustratly ran his hand through his hair " for how long ? " He asked " I-" " For how long Leona ! " He shouted at this point Leona started to cry and her next words broke me " for almost three years "

Lucas kicked another lounge chair . He angrily walked towards Leona but he did the  most unexpected thing .
He hugged her .

Lucas POV

Once I hugged her she broke down in my arms . As I held my sister as she cried  , I felt how broken she really was .

Tears welled from deep inside surfaced and made her tremble . She felt so frail and venerable that I felt like if I held her any  tight her bones might break .

I could feel a figure retreating and I knew it was Angel's . I pulled  back and stared at her she avoid my eyes . " Why didn't you tell anyone why didn't you tell me ? " I asked desperately

" I couldn't tell anyone I knew what you'd have done and I don't want that " she shook her head tiredly " you were so angry at me , Lucas you couldn't even have a small conversation with me . How did you expect to confine in you ? " She stared up at me sadly . As much as her words hurt me , they were all true .

" I would have never chosen my anger if you told me ,  Leona . You were abused  I would have done something " I sighed making up my mind " Get change we're going to him "

Third person

Leona ran after Lucas trying to stop him  ,but it was no use he had already  made up his mind . Angel was there to witnessed it she rolled her eyes once she saw Angel and bumped her shoulder on her way out .

I think I have helped her enough . She thought .

When Lucas finally pulled up at Leona's apartment , he forcefully opened the door " Finally , you came " Nicolai spoke after hearing the opened up not knowing it wasn't her " I've been wondering when you'll get bac-" Marcus spot Lucas entering the living room and stood up " Hey Lucas , didn't know you were coming-"

Lucas's POV

Before he could finish his sentence , I slammed him against the wall " che diavolo! controlla te stesso " ( What the heck ! Control yourself " He said angrily .
The nerve he had to get angry . I slammed against the wall the second time and that's when Leona's frantic footsteps round the corner Nicolai frowned at her .

" Who gave you the right to put your hands on her " he looked dumbfounded for a moment then his eyes widened " you snitched " This time I punched him square in the face . He tried to kneed  me in the stomach but it missed and hit my hips instead . This made me furious so I head butted him which made him knock on the whole hard .

" That's enough , Lucas " Leona said holding me by my waist " please " she whispered against my back her voice breaking  . I took  a deep breath and let him go .

He was still hunched over cradling his head in pain .
This is not even half of the pain you put her through .

I called my men to keep him locked up until we decide what to do with him . When my parents found out , they were furious my mother cried for the pain that Leona had to go through these past few years while my father was ready to kill him  with his bare hands .

" We won't kill him . As much  as we want  to , it's not up to us to decide his fate "  We all looked at my mother in bewilderment " what are you talking about Rosa ? " My father asked  throwing his hands up in frustration .

She sighed " I know that we are all about the killing , but killing him won't erase the bruises on Leona . The beating he is getting are already enough " my mother was never a fan of our lifestyle even though she was born into it and she did her best to not be too involved " Let's just like lock him up . Even though he hurt Leona , he still mean a lot to her killing him won't help her case." And as much as we disagree with her , we knew that she was right . It would make her even more depress .

Leona explained to us that he wasn't always like this " In the beginning , he was such a gentleman  I never knew he would become abusive " she said with teary eyes " At first he would get angry about little things , like  when I left without informing him , I thought it was normal and  he was just worried about my safety but it got bad .  when the runaway season started , he would get very possessive and controlling forbidding my manager to wear certain clothing , and I thought it was normal he just wanted me to wear decently . When I thought he was exaggerating I confronted him that's when he  first slapped me . "

Tears were now streaming down her face " he immediately apologized saying he didn't mean it and I believed him . It was the same every time he hit me , he would quickly apologize with flowers and chocolates and I forgave him everytime " she leaned forward her head in her hands " I was so naive to believe "  Leona broke down crying . My mother quickly pulled her in her arms .

" It's not your fault honey " she hugged her tightly " you were blinded by your love for him to see , you couldn't see pass his actions . "

Her words reminded me of myself at some point of my life , I was too blinded by love to see that she never loved me , but now , it's different it has been proven  to me .

Leona stayed at my parents place until she could recover and for the pass two weeks , I could see that she was quickly recovering . She began to smile and laugh more and quickly gained weight too . I guess sometimes the people that you surround yourself with can destroy your health , sanity and confidence and can make you depressed .

We were slowly rekindle our relationship and it was soon going back to how it was before

Angel's POV

I could see that Lucas and Leona's relationship was slowly improving he didn't answer coldly like he used to , he would have a full conversation with his sister and that made me miss Layla .

She was like a sister to me that I always asked for but never had , then started to miss my Dad and made a mental note to pay him a visit .

I watched Leona squeeze Lucas cheeks playfully then made her way to me . I didn't know why she was coming to me and I truly hope that it was not to argue with me again . Once she got closer to me she smiled " Hi "

" Hey " I replied with a small smile back " I just wanted to apologize for how I acted towards you you didn't  deserve it " Leona said looking remorseful I don't say anything .

" I was just looking out for my brother you know ? He last relationship wasn't so great , but that shouldn't justify my actions , I'm sorry " " it's all in the past now " I give her a small smile to which she smiled back just as she was About to go she turned back to me

" I appreciate what you did for me " I frown " Nikolai situation " she waved it off and gave me bright smile . " If it weren't for you I wouldn't have gotten the courage to tell the truth . Thank you . " This time she pulled me into a tight hug which took me by surprise after few seconds she pulled back with one last smile my way she walked back to her brother.

I guess it wasn't just her relationship with her brother that was improving .

This chapter was a bit all over the place lol but it's how I wanted to potray it . What do you think about it ?

Leona finally told the truth and it became the solution for all of her problems . What happened to her was unfortunate domestic abuse is thing and I hope that whoever who is going through it would have the courage to report it .

And Lucas almost admitted something in this chapter , do you think it's the perfect timing ?  Comment  down your thoughts .
