Jay looked away, his lips pressed together in a tight line as he let out a frustrated sigh.
"You know."
He began, his voice laced with amusement.
"I didn't think you'd go this far just to make me jealous."Heeseung blinked, stunned for a moment before a laugh slipped out.
He shook his head, cutting Jay off mid sentence.
"Make you jealous? Excuse me..what?"Jay nodded solemnly, keeping his gaze away from Heeseung.
"Yeah, I get it. Look, I'm not mad that you slept with Sunghoon. Really, I'm not. I know it was just...for my benefit."
He finished, sighing with exaggerated patience, as if he'd already forgiven Heeseung for this supposed scheme.Heeseung raised an eyebrow, clearly amused.
He leaned against the wall, watching Jay with a smirk.
Sure, Jay was a bit possessive, and sometimes he seemed convinced he was the center of everyone's world, but this?
It was ridiculous.
Heeseung didn't care whether Jay was jealous or not.
Last night, the only thing he wanted was Sunghoon, and nothing else had even crossed his mind.
But Heeseung decided not to press it.
He knew Jay well enough to understand that reasoning with him would go nowhere.
Sometimes, it was easier to let him believe his own narrative.
So Heeseung just shrugged, a smile still tugging at his lips as he replied.
"Sure, Jay. Whatever you say."Heeseung felt Jay's gaze lingering on him as they entered the room, almost like a shadow close behind.
The hall was alive with the low hum of conversation, voices carrying bits of gossip and laughter.
As they moved toward their seats, Heeseung couldn't help but notice the way some eyes trailed over him, a few faces bright with knowing smiles or smirks that hinted they'd heard the morning's rumors.
A flush warmed Heeseung's cheeks, his eyes flitting to the floor, his strides quickening as he tried to ignore the unspoken questions in those glances.
He spotted Jungwon and Sunoo already seated a few rows down, waving them over with curious eyes that sparkled with barely concealed amusement.
Jay, with his ever steady presence, settled beside Heeseung and made a show of ignoring the glances cast their way, though his jaw was set just a bit too firm.
Heeseung felt the warmth of Jay's hand as it rested over his own, the weight grounding, his voice low but clear.
"If anyone says anything."
Jay murmured, just loud enough for Heeseung to hear.
"I'll take care of it."Heeseung glanced at Jay, taken aback.
Beneath Jay's easygoing exterior was a fierce loyalty that somehow caught Heeseung off guard every time.
Jay's fingers gave a slight squeeze, his expression softening, letting Heeseung know without words that he had someone on his side.
It was a silent vow.
A small, protective gesture that made Heeseung feel, if only for a moment, like he could laugh off whatever words came his way. They took their seats beside Jungwon and Sunoo, who exchanged a quick glance, both clearly eager to tease but holding back for Jay's sake.
Jungwon leaned forward, an eyebrow raised, his lips twitching with a barely restrained grin.
