Heeseung took a steadying breath, his hands shaking slightly as he held Sunghoon’s gaze.

"I liked Jay. I thought he was the one I wanted, but somewhere along the way.."
He paused, searching Sunghoon’s face.
"I fell in love with you."

Sunghoon’s eyes widened, a soft gasp escaping his lips as he gripped Heeseung’s hands.

"So..why?"
His voice cracked, desperate and confused.
"Why are you saying yes to Jay if you love me?"

Heeseung felt his heart ache at the vulnerability in Sunghoon’s voice.

Slowly, he lifted his hands, cupping Sunghoon’s face, his thumbs brushing away the tears that had started to slip down his cheeks.

He gazed at him softly, his own expression filled with regret and longing.

"Because Jay felt like the safe option, like he wouldn’t hurt me. He’s familiar, and I thought I could..be with him."
He paused, his voice dropping to a whisper.
“But I can't.”

Sunghoon leaned in, his eyes glistening with fresh tears as he sniffled, his face inches from Heeseung’s.

Heeseung leaned in too, his heart pounding as he pressed his lips to Sunghoon’s in a gentle kiss filled with all the emotions he’d been holding back.

Sunghoon melted into the kiss, his hands moving to rest against Heeseung’s arms.

When they pulled apart, Heeseung looked at him.
"I want to be with you if you promise not to hurt me. I need to know that you’re serious..that I can trust you."

Sunghoon swallowed, his eyes shining with determination as he reached up, placing his hand over Heeseung’s, pressing their hands against his heart once more.

"I promise, Heeseung."
He whispered.
"I’ll protect you, and I’ll prove to you every day that I mean it. Just don’t let me lose you. Not now, not ever."

Heeseung felt his heart swell as he looked into Sunghoon's eyes, the unwavering intensity of his words lingering in the air between them.

For the first time, he felt a spark of hope that maybe, this love wouldn’t shatter him.

Slowly, he nodded, and a faint smile touched his lips.

“Alright.”
He murmured, voice soft.
“But if you break my heart..” Heeseung’s voice trailed off, a hint of teasing in his gaze, though it was layered with vulnerability.

Sunghoon reached for his hand, intertwining their fingers.
“I won’t.”
He gave Heeseung’s hand a gentle squeeze.

After a while, Sunghoon broke the silence, his voice barely a whisper.

“So..does this mean you’re finally mine?”
The question was filled with hope, almost childlike in its honesty.

Heeseung chuckled softly, feeling warmth flood his chest as he looked up at him.

“Yeah.”
He said.
“I guess it does.”

Sunghoon grinned, his eyes lighting up, and without another word, he leaned down, capturing Heeseung’s lips in a kiss that held both the excitement of something new and the comfort of something long overdue.

This time, there were no fears, no doubts, just them, and the quiet promise of a future they could build together.

As they pulled away, both of them smiling, Heeseung’s phone buzzed with a message.

He glanced at it, and his smile faded slightly as he saw Jay’s name on the screen, a simple message lighting up.

“Good morning. Can’t wait to see you today.”
