"We all have this turning point of giving up, it's your choice if you wanna stand up and breakthrough, or leave everything as it is and die with regrets."

Archduke Chalcedony hates it to death, going back to the Castle. It was his home, but it never felt like home at all. It feels like a huge cage, he has no freedom in that place and he never want to go back in there. But he has no other choice, he needs to go back and let his mother know of his arrival. He hates it when he see his mother talking to that damn big mirror, he never knew what's in there, but he mostly catches his mother talking to that damn big mirror on the wall as if she's talking to someone inside that thing. But he couldn't see anything tho, just her Mom's reflection. It's creepy, he never liked it at all. Well, he never liked anything in the Castle to be exact. Even his room, he hates it to death.
He arrived without anyone's knowledge. He's skilled enough, he trained so hard that he almost died. Yes, there were so many times when he faced death and life situation in the forest. He was away bitten the dust, he thought he won't make it, but he was determined to pass so he made it possible by working triple hard. He's a Prince, an official Archduke, the heir to the Abyss throne, everyone's expecting him to come back full and alive. Including that girl he greeted on the fall.
Damn, he doesn't want to look like a stalker, but he can't help but to watch that girl at Peakbrook back then whenever he practices his levitation. He once saw her greeting herself a happy birthday even though she was alone. It's pathetic, what a dumb girl. But it seems like he's more pathetic than she was, because he should not care. But he just found himself getting in her location just to give her that damn candle during that fall--and the truth was he thought she was already dead, he thought she died while training so he brought a candle to atleast put it on her grave. And he was shocked to see a girl resting on a tree, watching the lanterns hovering the night sky, he saw a girl crying alone instead of a cadaver. Well, she survived.
She looks like a mess, far from him. Their improvements were distant that time, but he was fascinated on the fact that she actually survived. So he did everything he could to continue surviving as well, he cannot be defeated by a mere girl, a human who's status is nothing compared to him.
He sighed before entering the hall through the closed windows. A loud breaking sound traipsed the corners of the halls. Well, he doesn't need to open a close thing as long as it has a shadow. He could do anything using a shadow, but that's not the case. He wants a loud secret entrance-- yup, obscured but that's him anyway. He devasted the glass window with his beamed sword and entered nonchalantly.
He walked through the hallways to his room, it doesn't matter if he runs to his mom. They don't care with each other's presence at all, his mother only talks to him when it comes to the throne of Beryllus. But for Abyss' sake he doesn't want to be the Emperor of that fucking empire, it doesn't matter if it's the heart of Beryllus. He just wants to live, and that's all.
"So..."
Speaking of the devil. The Queen's voice echoed the lonely and dark hall. He sighed and turn to face his mom who's standing at the window he just broke seconds ago.
"Can't you just arrive quietly, my dear? It's night, why seek attention?" She asked.
Nagbuntong hininga ang Archduke. Hindi siya nagsalita, hinintay niyang magpatuloy ang kaniyang Ina. Perhaps, he's expecting something from her at all. Atleast a warm welcome or greeting-- like any good mother would do whenever her son arrives from a deadly battle. Perhaps, he's expecting her warmth at all... just like the old times. But he clearly knew it would never happen again.
