Disclaimer; this chapter gets kinda dark with mentions of rape, slavery, and torture. Don't worry, none of that will actually happen, but just a heads up.

Imperial Base - Daro

After separating from Kenobi and Rex, Anakin and Chief swiftly made their way down the various halls of this underground maze. Despite hating who they were going up against, Chief had to give it to the Empire's engineers and the fortifications this place had. Blast doors around every turn, automated sentry turrets and countless hidden passageways that Imperial troops could move through and ambush them from behind. The best asset the two heroes had was their speed and adaptability.

When the Spartans started showing up, Chief was disgusted at their performance. These knockoffs were a crude imitation of the physical features of him, but they had no brotherhood, no tactical prowess. If anything, these Spartans were just stormtroopers with augmentations and tougher armour. Anakin obviously shared this feeling, having had the honour of fighting alongside the Demon on multiple occasions. Skywalker understood that Chief was far more than just armour, muscle and expert trigger finger, the Spartan was one of the best tacticians he had ever met and Anakin thought of him as a trusted ally.

During his brief time as Vader, Palpatine specifically mentioned the issue of the Master Chief and how after the Jedi Temple he wanted Vader to personally handle the matter. Despite not meaning much at the time, it was now speaking volumes as the legendary Spartan was tearing through the Imperial imitations. Finally ending up at the end of the hallway, Chief saw a doorway with a highlighted name 'Demon Slayer' above the door frame. Looking to Skywalker, Chief gained a nod of approval from the Chosen One, this was his fight.

"Go get 'em Chief, I'll handle Palpatine." Anakin spoke before opening a door that flowed into a large cave-like room. As for Chief, upon entering his door, he was met with a large storage room with an elevator leading to what he could only assume was the surface. Suddenly, red lights started going off as the cargo elevator came down carrying something big. The closer to the bottom it got, the more the Spartan recognized that this was going to be a tough fight.

"Master Chief, I see you have finally made it down here. Took you long enough." A modulated voice spoke through the machine, but Chief would recognize that voice anywhere, Tarkin. Gloating to the Spartan that the machine he was piloting  was designed by the best Imperial engineers to be the anti-Spartan contingency. Both Palpatine and Tarkin had acknowledged that having a Spartan program meant that there was a chance for a rogue Spartan, meaning that they needed a means of dealing with that. This mech was the prototype and Tarkin's personal battle gear from now on.

Made out of the toughest tank armour, this bipedal weapons platform was armed with dual heavy blaster cannons on its right arm and five anti-armour missile pods on its left. Not to mention that there were two massive mortar systems on its back for extra ranged combat capabilities. And finishing off this whole thing was a personal energy shield that was a larger and tougher version than what the Imperial Spartans were equipped with. Towering over the already large Spartan, the mech was a force to be reckoned with.
