A/N's POV:

Sonic and Tails had been living with Rouge and Shadow for a couple weeks by now. They had gotten used to the new establishment, and the different rules. Sonic and Shadow gotten even closer together, more than just a 'friendly' way.

The whole group noticed the difference, how it went from fighting to 'friendship'. The two had been going more places together, spending most of their day with each other. It was obvious they had feelings, apparently not to the other. Seriously, how could you not know by this point?

Besides that, things have been pretty peaceful, Eggman had stopped attacking. No other villains had appeared either, things were going great! Otherwise, Sonic had been talking to Rouge about Shadow. He wasn't there at the moment, he was doing a gun mission.

Rouge's POV:

Sonic had been ranting on to me about shadow, what a lovesick hedgehog! Literally this whole conversation has been about him, nothing else. I can't even sneak in anything about Knuckles without it being changed to Shadow..

"I mean, I can't believe I even hated the guy!" He laughed, poor guy doesn't even realize that he's been going on about him for a half an hour! "Shadows smile is cute too..!" He giggled, catching my attention. "Wait, hold on, he smiles at you?" I ask him, Sonic nodded.

'Oh Sonic.. you have no idea do you..?' I think to myself. "What? Is that not a normal thing to you?" He asked me confused, I shook my head no. He shrugged, looking so confused. 'Should I tell him..? Or let him figure it out..'

Sonic seemed lost in thought, he clearly didnt know what to think. Tails walked in from the basement where he had set up a temporary lab. "Hey guys!" He waved, snapping Sonic out of thought. "Hey bud!" He said waving back, I waved to Tails as well.

"I've been working on something, it's a little signal robot!" He said proudly holding out the little bot. It's small, but Tails' inventions never fail to impress me, so it's likely pretty useful. "I call it the 'Ticker', it sends out self destruct signals to Badniks or larger bots from a miles distance!" He says proudly, this kid is a genius!

"Woah, that's cool!" Sonic said stunned, I nodded agreeing with him. "This would help us in the next battle we have with Dr. Eggman." Tails adds. The little bot beeped happily, and spun around. "Awe, it's so cute!" Sonic said at the little bot with a thumbs up. "I know!" Tails smiled, he patted the bots head. 'This is better than being in a one sided conversation about Shadow..'

Sonic's POV:

What a cutie, despite its ability! It's really impressive, even if it is small.

Tails began to walk back towards the basement, "Well, I'm going to go make sure everything's in order, I'll be back up later!" He said before heading back down. "That was nice!" I say, Rouge nodded. "Is he always like that? Attached to his lab?" She asked me. "Kinda, sometimes he does spend time away from it." I replied, "It's almost like he lives there sometimes!" I chuckled.

Rouge smiled, "Good thing you're here, I doubt he would ever come out of the basement." She said turning her head to look at me. "I'm hardly even able to get him to leave." She added, I shrugged.

It was quiet for a split second, before I heard the front door open. "Hey handsome." Rouge said, making my head turn. "Hey shads!" I say with a smirk, he looked tired. "Oh, that reminds me, I got a date with Knuckles later, see ya!" Rouge said leaving to get ready. 'Do they always do that..?' I think to myself, but seriously do they?

Shadow sighed, I could tell he was exhausted. "You okay shads?" I ask him, he lazily nodded. He was obviously not, "You sure?" I ask. "I'm fine." He growled, his eye twitching. He walked towards the kitchen rubbing his temples, he's in a bad mood.

Shadow walked into the kitchen, looking in the cabinet to find his coffee beans. 'Oh crap, he forgot he's out..' I think before seeing him grab the empty bag, "damnit..!" He yells throwing it. I sigh, "You should get some rest." I say, he snapped his head toward me. "I don't need sleep." He growled, walking back out the kitchen.

"Yes you do, you're acting like a grumpy kid!" I said, he groaned. "I am The Ultimate Life-"
"Shut up, come on." I say before I start dragging him. "Let me go!" he demanded, I ignored him and brung him up the stairs.

I opened his room door, shutting it behind us, "You need to rest shads." I say. He groaned again, "I'm not sleeping." He said crossing his arms. "Too bad, you have no choice!" I chuckle before laying onto the bed, patting a spot next to me. He rolled his eyes before he walked up to the bed, sitting on the edge. "Come on shads~" I smirked, he looked at me and sighed.

He lied down next to me, "Why is this 'so important'?" He asked me. "Because everybody needs sleep, even 'The Ultimate Life Form'." I reply, he nodded. It was pretty quiet after that, so I assumed he was asleep. Until he grabbed me and started to cuddle me, "U-uh shads..?" I started blushing. "Shut up." He said purring.
