                                                                                               ~🥥~

I was walking back to my desk. Fuli had just turned us down. Woah. Why was she all 'I-don't-need-anyone-leave-me-alone' all of a sudden?

I sit down just as the bell rings for class to start. History class. Yawn.

Our teacher, Mr. Zito, gets everyone's attention, "Settle down, class! Settle down!!"

The class grew quiet. I noticed a guy around our age with messy blonde hair standing next to the teacher. Who was he?

"Class, we have a new student this year. His name is Azaad. He'll be with us for the rest of the term."

Two whole quarters with that guy? I caught Bella, at the back corner, swooning. In fact, several girls were making heart-eyes.

Seriously, two whole quarters with that guy??

I thought the girls all had crushes on Kion. And as soon as Azaad pops in, they're like, 'yeah, this guy's way better'. No! No one's better than Kion!

...Did I just say that?

Okay, okay, okay. Maybe there is a tiny possibility I like Kion?

A tiny, tiny, triple-dipple very tiny possibility?

Gosh, no wonder I hate myself.

Azaad sits down in front of me, and I can't help but wonder what Fuli thinks of him.

Gosh, no wonder I hate myself! A new guy walks in, and I decide to ship him with a girl that just went Godzilla on us.

I fiddle with my braid. Mr. Zito had told us to put our books away because Bella and Chloe were going to do their debate thingy. I don't even know what it's about.

But something caught my eye. Fuli was writing something next to me. I inched over my seat as much as I could without her noticing. I strain myself to get a closer look. What was she writing??

I wobbled a bit from my own weight, but I kept myself straight long enough to see the word 'Azaad'.  Then I leaned back in my chair, recovering.

Azaad? Did she know Azaad? What was she writingggg!?!?

The bell rang, and immediately Beshte got up and went over to talk to Azaad. He sure is a social butterfly. Azaad warmed up to Beshte and the two of them went ahead of us to the lockers, chatting.

I looked over my shoulder as I left the classroom with Bunga and Kion. Fuli was still in there, talking to our classmate Kasi. She was part of the track team, too.

Maybe Fuli doesn't want us, I thought sadly. I opened my locker and glanced over at Kion.

"Um," I said, clearly getting his attention and Bunga's, "Fuli was writing something. During class."

"So was Kion." Bunga piped up, "He kept making a heart-shape with his pencil."

Kion grew pink and stamped Bunga's foot, "Bunga!!!" He hissed through gritted teeth. Bunga just giggled.

The three of us grabbed our lunch bags and headed to the cafeteria. "Did you see what Fuli was writing?" Kion asked.

I squared my shoulders, "She-I didn't get to see all of it-but- I saw the word Azaad."

"Wonder what that means." Bunga remarked.

Kion wrinkled his nose. I wonder what he was thinking.
