Sarah enters her grandparents' house, a smile lingering on her lips.
"What happened, ma? Why are you all wet? And what's with that smile?" her grandmother asks.
Sarah just shrugs and heads to her room to change.
"Kabir..." she whispers to herself, smiling.
A few days later...
Sarah is conducting a medical camp with her friends, who are helping her with the patients and Sarah is the one taking care of the expenses.
She wants everyone to be happy and healthy. She has everything a loving family and enough money to live comfortably for the next ten generations.
What more could she want? So, she helps those in need.
Villagers come to the medical camp for checkups.
While Sarah is inside, examining an elderly man, she hears a commotion outside. She steps out and sees a few thugs throwing chairs around and causing a scene.
"What on earth is happening here?" Sarah demands. The rowdies stop what they're doing and turn to her.
"Oh, look! The doctor madam is here!" one of them sneers.
Sarah glares at him.
"Ayo, madam, don't look at us like that. We’re scared, please, madam!" he mocks, and his friends laugh.
"Enough of this nonsense. Why are you here?" she asks sternly.
The thug stops laughing and speaks seriously.
"Who gave you permission to set up a camp here? Don’t you know you need Rajalakshmi Amma's permission? You can't do anything here without it."
"Oh, so I need your Rajalakshmi Amma's permission for a camp that has government approval?" Sarah replies sarcastically.
"No government permission matters here, only Rajalakshmi Amma’s. If you don’t have her permission, you aren’t allowed to be here."
Sarah thinks for a moment and asks, "So everything in this village is controlled by your Rajalakshmi Amma?"
"Yes," he answers.
"And don’t cross the line again. You already did by stopping that puja. Don’t make yourself a target, and don’t make her angry," he warns.
Sarah nods, smiling slightly. "So, that puja was also your Rajalakshmi Amma’s doing?"
The thug nods.
"Alright then. Why don’t you take me to her? I’ll speak with her myself."
"Look at the doctor madam! Now she’s afraid of Rajalakshmi Amma," another thug jokes.
"Fine, let’s go," the first thug agrees.
"I’ll follow you on my scooter," Sarah says, starting her scooty.
"Sarah, what are you doing? We can file a complaint. They don’t look like good people," her friend megahan says.
"Don’t worry, Meghana. I know how to handle people like this," Sarah replies, riding off.
"Who said I’m worried about you? I’m worried about them," Meghana mutters as Sarah disappears from view.
Sarah arrived at a large mansion that looked very old and royal.
Two tough looking men led her inside. They brought her to a woman sitting on the floor, mixing something in her hands.
One of the men bowed and said, “Amma, this is the doctor.”
