8: Broken elevator

Goob's POV:

I still can't believe Shrimpo accepted that sleepover request...oh boy oh boy oh boy!! This is going to be amazing! I glance at Shrimpo still holding his halloween basket. Oh right, he has to change into his pajamas! We walk right past me and Scraps's room, and stop at Shrimpo's. Shrimpo walks back out wearing his pajamas, and we stop at my door.

"I'm gonna go change my clothes, wait here, okay?" I tell him like he's a dog. Shrimpo nods. I go into my room, change my clothes to some pajamas, and I unlock the door. "Shrimpo, you can come in!" Shrimpo walks in, and examines the room. "Sorry, it's probably a bit messy-" 

"No it's fine." Shrimpo cuts in. I look surprised. "So... what now?"

"Oh yeah!" I walk over to my side of the room, rummaging in my closet. "I found this cool TV and don't tell Dandy, but I borrowed some of his tapes!" I held up some tapes, some more rusty than others, some more new. I tried dragging the TV out of my closet, but it was too heavy. 

"Here, lemme help." Shrimpo came up beside me, and we were able to drag the TV out of my closet and next to my bed. We sat on Scraps' side, and I put a tape in. The TV flashes to an old man introducing something. It was very...staticy and all that. Glitched in and out at random sentences.

"This is a bottle of ichor. Ichor is- ... - Very rare- ... - Do not mess with it, it is very dan- ... - At your own risk. Toons will- ... - Twist- ... -" The tape just cut out and loaded to a static screen. 

"Uhm... well that was strange...?" I asked quietly. 

"How about we just cut to the next tape?" Shrimpo suggests. I nod quietly, and Shrimpo pulls out the newest tape that I stole. Probably to calm me down. 

"Oh hey, it's Dandy's toon handler!" I point at the man on the screen. 

"Hey you! Are you looking for a huggable, squishable, cute toy? Well you're in luck 'cause we're selling the one and only Dandy plush! And better yet, if you buy one, you can get everything at Gardenview 50% off!  Buy now for only- ... -  and our friend Goob-" 

"It's me!" I squealed beside Shrimpo.

"-has volunteered to make some friendship bracelets for everyone to enjoy! If you're not already a Gardenview member, join now to experience the best fun there is!"

"...That's what Dandy's handler used my bracelets for?" I whined.

"Of course it's for money... this is why I hate Gardenview." Shrimpo grumbled beside me.

Shrimpo's POV:

WHY AM I FEELING SYMPATHY FOR HIM??? I grab the next tape, not bothering to look at it, and shove it in the TV. I must've put in an old tape.

"Hello. Shelly's handler from Gardenview he- ... - Ichor is very- ... - Monsters called twisteds. Twisteds- ... - Dandy has a sh- ... - Bandages and med- ... - Help the toon- ... - Machines fill up with ichor. But if the ichor leaks out, then the toons will twist. If a twisted gets all- ... - Toons will di- ... - Gardenview is closing soon." We both stare at Shelly's toon handler, and I wonder if she's giving real information, or if this is just part of show. 

"Well... wanna sleep now?" Goob asks. 

"Sure, I guess." I respond. "Wait- I forgot to bring my sleeping bag, hold on I'm gonna get it real quick." I get up from the floor.

"Want me to come with you?" He asks.

"Yeah. I mean- you don't have to." Why am I so nice and I stutter around him?? Goob smiles and gets up. We walk through the hallway, but when we reach my door I notice there's some ominous sounds coming from where the elevators are.

"Do you hear that?" Goob asks, quietly. I nod.

"We should check maybe if someone got hurt?" I ask anxiously. We both creep down to the elevators. We see the elevator just...there. 

"Maybe Dandy had some toons go on a run and now they've returned...?" Goob hopes. 

"This probably sounds like a dumb idea, but we should check the elevator in case there's something wrong with it. Then we can alert Dandy." I tell Goob. 

"Doesn't sound dumb at all! Let's go in." Goob holds my hand as we both enter the elevator. Instead of the elevator going down to floor 1, it plummets. Me and Goob both scream. We hover above the ground, since it's falling so fast.

"WHAT'S HAPPENING???" I scream.

"I DON'T KNOW-" Finally, the elevator stops.

(Yay I love cliffhangers :D)
