Chapter 18

Your POV

As soon as you reached your floor at the hotel, you saw Minjun waiting for you by the elevator. Taeho, your bodyguard, blocked his way the second he tried to approach you. Granted, Minjun was looking kind of "suspicious" with a bruise around his eye after Jungkook's punch.

"It's okay, he's Mr.Song's son", you elaborated as Taeho reluctantly let Minjun approach you.

"Y/N, hi! How are you feeling?" the younger man studied your face.

"I don't think you should be worrying about me, Minjun. I'm sorry about that", you tilted your chain, silently pointing in the direction of his bruise.

"It's not your fault", he shrugged. "I came over to talk to you about something else", he eyed Taeho but the man wouldn't budge, staying close to you as Minjun sighed and carried on. "My dad and I are working on this upcoming drama with Nam Joo Hyuk. And we'd like you to audition for the role of his love interest. Well, technically, your character would be hopelessly in love with him while he has eyes for someone else. But your role is a big one and I don't have to tell you how successful a drama could become once Nam Joo Hyuk will be the main lead", he rambled, taking a peek at your features.

"But Minjun, you know that I don't have any experience, not even acting training... Also, my primary goal is making it in the music industry", you expressed your honest thoughts, still beyond shocked by the opportunity.

"It doesn't matter. We saw how talented and hard-working you are while filming you here. And you fit the image we've been looking for this particular role. It's a big opportunity, Y/N. I really hope you'll audition", Minjun said everything in one breath. You contemplated for a second, wondering if you were brave enough to do it. You started to feel scared, your heartbeat racing at the thought of acting in front of everyone, most importantly, one of the top actors in Korea. But then you thought back to all the times you were too scared to try something new, all the times you were rejected after pouring your heart and soul. Maybe it was time for you to take the opportunities that you couldn't even dream about a month ago.

"Well, auditioning for it doesn't mean I'd get the role anyway, right?" you let out a soft laugh.

"That's the spirit!" Minjun mirrored your laugh.

"So what do I have to prepare? Is there a script I need to learn?" you knew you needed to prepare a lot due to your lack of experience.

"Yeah, there's a monologue. It's actually pretty short! If you let me know your phone number, I'll send it to you right away!" he gave you a warm smile.

Once you exchanged numbers, you told him you had to get ready for your flight back to Seoul. You had only two hours to take a quick shower and repack your things. After an hour and a half, you were sitting on a sofa in your hotel room, your baggage and bag neatly packed and ready. That's when you heard a knock.

"Who is it?" you said, feeling much safer because of your bodyguard's presence on the other side of the door.

"It's me", Jungkook's voice came through, causing your heartbeat to race and your palms to get sweaty. Why were you so nervous to see him when you spent so much time filming with him just a few hours ago? As soon as he stepped in your hotel room, you felt like you were sucked into a bubble where only you two existed.

"Hi", your voice came off awkward and hoarse, making you wince internally.

"Hi?" Jungkook raised an eyebrow, smirking at your state. He had a dark glint in his eyes. Shit, he already caught on your state, didn't he? He stared at you for a few seconds, not uttering a word, enjoying your nervousness under his piercing gaze. You cleared your throat, avoiding eye contact.
