As the evening settled into a comfortable rhythm, Taehyung's mother led Y/N into the kitchen, where the warm aroma of freshly baked cookies filled the air. The atmosphere was cozy, illuminated by the soft glow of pendant lights hanging above the kitchen island.

"Y/N, dear, I wanted to share something with you," Taehyung's mom said, her tone shifting to one of seriousness as she started to prepare the cookies on a plate. “It’s about Taehyung’s past.”

Y/N's heart skipped a beat as she sensed the gravity of the conversation. “Oh? What is it?” she asked, her curiosity piqued.

His mother took a deep breath, choosing her words carefully. “You know, before he met you, Taehyung was with someone named Lee Rebeca. They were quite close for a while, but it didn’t end well. Rebeca could be… persistent. I just want you to be cautious, especially since you’re all in the same academic environment.”

A flash of recognition sparked in Y/N’s mind as the name "Lee Rebeca" echoed through her thoughts. She remembered her professor, Ms. Lee, the one who had always seemed overly comfortable around Taehyung. Suddenly, everything began to connect. The warmth in Ms. Lee's gaze, the way she would laugh a little too easily at Taehyung's jokes, and the way her presence lingered in the classroom felt different now.

“Ms. Lee,” Y/N murmured, her heart beginning to race. “Is she… the same person?”

Taehyung's mother nodded, concern etched on her face. “Yes, that’s her. I just want you to be aware of how she might behave. I know it’s been a while, but some feelings can linger. You deserve to feel secure in your relationship, and I don’t want you to feel threatened by anyone, especially someone from his past.”

Y/N felt a wave of emotions wash over her—confusion, jealousy, and an unsettling sense of protectiveness over her relationship with Taehyung. “Thank you for telling me,” she replied softly, her mind racing as she tried to process the implications. “I had no idea.”

“Just keep an eye out, dear,” his mother said gently, her expression softening. “Taehyung loves you, and I can see that. I just want to make sure you’re both happy and that nothing from the past affects your future.”

Y/N nodded, appreciating the concern but feeling a knot tighten in her stomach. She couldn’t help but wonder if Taehyung was still oblivious to the potential threat his ex-girlfriend posed. “I will be careful,” she promised, but her voice was laced with uncertainty. “I just hope this doesn’t complicate things between us.”

“Just communicate with him,” his mother encouraged, a warm smile returning. “You two have something special. Don’t let anything from the outside disturb that.”

As they finished arranging the cookies, Y/N felt a newfound determination bubbling inside her. She would have to talk to Taehyung about this, but for now, she pushed her concerns aside. She wanted to enjoy the evening with him, to revel in the warmth of their bond before addressing the shadows of the past that threatened to loom over them.

After the conversation with Taehyung’s mother, Y/N felt a mix of emotions brewing inside her. She followed Taehyung back to their room, trying to shake off the unease that had crept in since learning about Lee Rebeca. The quiet click of the door closing behind them seemed to momentarily seal away the outside world.

Taehyung glanced at her, his eyes softening as they settled into the dimly lit room. "You look like you’ve been thinking about something," he said, his voice gentle yet curious as he approached her. He reached out, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, his fingers lingering as if sensing her unease.
