"I really didn't see you there," Calum said, blushing like a maniac. "I'm so sorry. Shit," hissing under his breath as his hands sort of trembled in midair. "Oh God this sucks. I'm sorry..." He carried on with his apologies and I just a stood there not saying a word. After a while of getting no response, he looked up from his mess and examined my I'm sure extremely attractive facial expression. I stood in the presence of one of my idols with my eyes open wide and my jaw catching flies.
"Are, uh, are you okay, there?" he asked me with a skeptical gaze.
"Y-y-y-you're Calum Hood," I stuttered. Sugar honey ice tea. Get yourself together man!
Beaming, he replied, "Yeah! You a fan of the band?"
"Am I a fan? Uh, I would definitely see that as an appropriate term."
He let out a laugh that filled my stomach with a bubbly feeling. Holy crap... did he just laugh at my joke?
"Fantastic! I love meeting fans in public! What's your name, love?"
Name, name, name. My memory had been wiped clean. GODDAMMIT WOMAN WHAT IS YOUR NAME!
A few seconds of awkward silence passed before I managed to blurt "Olivia." Cal proceeded to tell me how it was such a cool name and then offered to buy me a drink. I said yes, of course. So the pair of us headed back to the bar and we talked for a while before I felt a slight tap on my shoulder.
"Hey chica! It's time to... HOLY HADES IT'S CALUM HOOD!" Tori nearly blew my eardrum out with her shriek. Calum again let out a hearty laugh.
After Tori regained a stable mental state, we chatted with him a bit longer before we finally left. As we were walking out, I felt a slight tug at my purse strap.
"Look, I really am sorry about your shirt. Are we good?" Calum said with pleading eyes.
"Yeah, of course. No sweat," was my reply. I gave him a quick wave, Tori and I hopped in the car and headed for our apartment. When I dug through my purse to find my phone, I found a torn piece of napkin with the words: Feel free to text me if you want to hang out again! Cal ;) scrawled alongside a number.
