This chapter is pure Hawkdeku cuteness. You're free to skip as it's not that important. I just needed something cute to write
"Good job, Angel, that was a great save there. The kid would have died had you not shielded him from falling ." Hawks noted as the 2 flew away from yet another save.
"Thank you... sir." The boy mumbled out, confusing the hero."What's wrong? You seem down." He exclaimed.
Izuku just shrugged. "I was just wondering. My classmates' brother, Ingenium, was hurt badly due to an attack from Stain The Hero Killer. I was wondering if I could visit and heal him."
"Hmm... where's he?" Hawks asked. Izuku immediately replied. "Hosu."
"Hosu, huh? Fine, we can go." Hawks answered, making the teen immediately beam up. "Thank you, sir!"
"You're welcome." Hawks answered as he held the teen's waist and pushed him closer to him.
"Until then, let's get some food and go rest." Hawks suggested, receiving a nod in return.
The 2 then headed towards a restaurant where Hawks repeatedly eats at. The hero got chicken nuggets, shocking the teen, while the latter got a soup bowl.
"Does it feel weird to have chicken?" Izuku asked as they flew away.
"Is that supposed to be a bird joke?" Hawks asked as he jokingly rolled his eyes.
"Well, you can say that if you want." The boy answered with a smile as they continued flying towards a tall building that Hawks suggested.
Once they arrived, Izuku was baffled by the scenery in front of him. He could see nearly every light in the city, and they all looked charming.
Hawks sat down close to him, his right wing surrounding the teen.
"Soup? Will that be enough?" Hawks asked.
"It's all I can eat. Dealing with food is weird considering how energy based my powers are." Izuku answered.
"Your powers. You've gone through so much to get those." Hawks spoke, his mood altering.
"Do you think my past will affect my career?" Izuku asked.
"What? No! No way. A lot of us have shitty pasts. Trust me, angel, it won't affect your hero path in no way, shape, or form." Hawks answered.
That answer seemed to satisfy Izuku as he goy closer to the man and rested his head on his shoulder.
No words were exchanged. The 2 just ate in peace as they stared at the city beneath them.
"Why did you offer me this internship?" Asked the boy out of the blue.
Hawks froze a little at that before answering.
"I noticed that you had great potential. In the sports festival, you got a halo above your head. The same happened when you lost control. You hold amazing powers that you still can't control, and I want to be the one to help you train them." Hawks explained.
Izuku nodded at that. The hero was just interested in his powers, then.
"I'm kidding, by the way." The hero said, confusing Izuku.
"You thought that I wanted you for your powers, didn't you?" Hawks asked.
Izuku froze a little at that before nodding, his head hung low.
"I'm gonna ignore that you would ever think of me like that." Hawks dramatically stated as he looked away.
"I chose you because I didn't want anyone else choosing you. If you end up with a girlfriend or something, I won't get the chance to have you and learn more about you." Hawks stated.
Izuku nodded slightly at that before answering. "Don't worry about the 'girl' part. Also, I would have chosen you no matter what. You're my favourite hero." Izuku answered.
Hawks's eyes sparkled twice throughout the teen's speech. He moved past the first part for a little while before asking. "I'm your favourite?!"
"Well, yeah!" Izuku answered before he went on a rant talking about the hero.
"I could almost kiss you." Hawks said as he stared at the teen talking.
Izuku's face flushed a deep coloured red, but he kept his composure. "Then do." He said, making Hawks's eyes widen.
The hero leaned forward, following the teen's command. He raised Izuku's face and got closer, but before he could kiss him, he felt his body giving up.
"I can't." He mumbled as he leaned back.
Izuku stared at him, his eyes saddened and tired.
"You're like my student. I don't want to feel like I'm taking advantage of this power imbalance." Hawks mumbled.
"But you're not, are you? I'm consenting to it." Izuku stated.
"Still... what makes you sure I won't lie or hurt you? You're far too trusting, considering we just met a few hours ago." Hawks shot back.
"You may lie, but your soul can't." Izuku said, confusing the hero.
"I sense aura. I feel intentions. You hold no bad or evil intentions towards me." Izuku explained.
Hawks let out a sigh of defeat at that. "Sorry for starting this. I didn't think you'd actually accept. I feel horrible now." The hero whined as he laid back.
"It's fine. I know that you meant it, at least." Izuku giggled as he laid back next to him.
"I hope that I'll get to explain some stuff to you. When that happens, I'll make sure to kiss you like I said I would." Hawks said with a smile.
"I never expected you'd say that. You don't know me. Is this something that everyone receives? Does everyone get the chance to kiss the Hawks?" Izuku giggled out.
"I've never reacted this way. There's something like I don't know... I'm not thinking. Everything is just happening randomly. It's like my body is forcing me to act this way." Hawks answered.
"It's the charm of the angel. No one can move past it." Giggled the teen.
"They can't, can they?" Hawks asked with a smile.
The 2 remained still in peace, not bothering to open up a single topic.
"What ever are your powers? They're so confusing." Hawks asked suddenly as he noticed Izuku's body turning warm.
"I... I don't know anymore. I have those wings that I randomly got when I lost control. Also, when I lost control and when I was fighting at the sports festival, I noticed a halo, but that never happened at any other time. I can control energy in healing, blasts, projectiles, and stuff, but the source of the energy is weird. I can control lights, and when I do, I feel like I get more energy, but I also can take energy from living beings. Izumo told me that I used fire against Endeavour when I lost control, but I have no idea how I did that." The boy ranted.
Hawks only nodded at that. "Would you take away my energy if I kissed you?" Hawks giggled out.
"You'll know if you do." The boy answered as he planted a peck on the man's forehead, startling him.
"I feel like I don't need to wait for an answer."
