Queen of the elements (Book 4 of The Fire Within)

Part 40: Timeline

(Five sits down and Y/n stares out the window. They had been riding in the train for less than 2 minutes when a weird blues light that lined the tunnel caught Y/n's attention and they pull into a station that looks almost identical to the one they had left minutes ago. Five and Y/n stepped out of the train and looked around.)

Five: The Hell? 

(There were some minor diffrenceses. There were more benches and a trash can in the corner but nothing too extreme. Y/n started to make her way up the stairs with Five close behind, but instead of finding the lobby they had blinked to before they found a town. The town. The town they had just come from but they didn't see their family, or the people with guns, et everything else was the same. Exactly the same.)

Five: What? Where is everyone? 

Y/n: Same day. Same time. 

(Five and Y/n looked at each other as it hit them. They knew exactly what was going on now.)

Five: Diffrent timeline. 

(Five and Y/n ran back down the stairs and got back on the train, hoping it would take them back to their timeline so they could help their family. The train pulled out of the station and Y/n turned to Five.)

Y/n: A subway that takes us between timelines. That's new. 

Five: Yeah, no shit. 

(Five pointed to what looked like the map above the door. It was confusing to say the least and had God knows how many lines and stops shown.)

Five: These must represent all the different timelines. 

Y/n: I thought we fixed the timelines by coming here. 

Five: I think we did, but it was only temporary. Maybe when we got our powers back, it split the timeline again. 

(Y/n sighs.)

Y/n: Why can't our lives ever be normal? 

Five: You and I will never be normal. 

(Y/n smiled remember the first time he said that to her when they were just kids. It was the first time they had talked about running away together. Who could have know they would end up here.)
