Chapter 11: Lego Skyscraper

Zayn's p.o.v

"Hey Zayn?" Paul said as he sat down next to me on the floor.

"What?" I answered and put another red block on the tower I was building.

"Why aren't you playing with the other boys?"

I shrug.

"Is everything ok?"

We just sit there quietly for a while.

"Is Niall gonna be ok?"

"Niall's going to be perfectly fine, Zayn. You have nothing to worry about."

I nod and put a green block on the tower.

"Why don't you come play with the other boys. They really want you to play with them."

"I'm good."

"Alright then. You're always welcome to join us if you want." He said before getting up and leaving.

Liam's p.o.v

"Is Zayn coming?" I ask Paul.

"I think he wants to be left alone at the moment." He replies.

I walk past Paul, and over to Zayn in the corner,

"Do you want some help building your tower?"

He nods so I sit down and start to pick up different colored blocks to put on top of the existing tower.

"I wanna help too!" Harry exclaims and picks up an orange block to put on the top.

"Why don't we build a bigger tower in the middle of the room that even reaches the ceiling!" Louis joins in and we all look at Paul.

"What are you looking at me for?"

"You're the adult!" Louis says.

"And you're taller than us too." I say.

"You want me to help you. Don't you?" We nod.

~a few hours later~

Paul's p.o.v

"What are you doing?"

I turn around to see Ashlyn at the door with Niall standing behind her with crutches.

"Um... Building a Lego skyscraper... What did you think we were doing?"

I heard the boys giggle at my answer.

Ashlyn sighed. "Niall, go sit down on the couch."

Niall obeyed and Ashlyn turned to the rest of us.

"Can you boys take this down?"

"Awww!!!" All the boys said at once... I might have joined them...

We spent hours on this thing! Minus a lunch break.

"Do you want me to take a picture of it first?"

"Yes!!!" We all said in unison again.

She pulled out her phone. "Ok, now everyone stand together in front of the tower. Niall, even you."

"But I didn't help build it!"

"Wait a minute..." I said. I picked up one of the few Legos that were still left, and gave it to Niall.

"What's this for?"

"I want to to help us complete the tower."

His eyes lit up as a smile came across his face. I lifted him up, being careful of his knee, and he placed the bright yellow block on the top of the tower that was taller than me.

"Ok, now for the picture."

The boys and I gather around and smile for the picture.

"I think Niall should knock it down with his stick thing!" Harry exclaims.

"Everybody back up... Niall, whenever you're ready." I say.

He smiles and whacks the tower toward the bottom making the Legos go everywhere. And when I say everywhere, I mean everywhere.

Seriously it looked like a nuclear bomb went off in Lego World.

"Now it's time for clean up!" Ashlyn said. "And if I find a single block on the floor-"

"You don't wanna know what's gonna happen." I finished for her.

The boys nod and start putting the blocks back into the bucket.

"How much do I owe you?"

"You don't need to pay me."

"Not this again. I'm not letting you leave this house until I pay you."

"10 pounds then."

She places £20 in my hand.

"I said 10. You gave me 20."

"I know. The other 10 is for when you watched the boys the first time... Plus I don't have anything lower than a 20 at the moment."

I laugh, "Call me if you need me to watch them again. They're really good kids."

"I know."
