Maddie was just getting out of her final class of the day. Everyday felt exhausting for her although she had become good at acting like it didn't bother her. She was used to playing parts to get through the day. She knew how to play the fun-loving teenage girl at school, the well adjusted teenage daughter at home and the recovering trauma success story to her therapist. All this acting though was taking its toll on a young 15 year Olds self.
She walked to her locker and put her books away before shutting it and heading out of the front doors of the school. She met up with her brother noah who smiled and said "hey sis I'm heading to Andrew's place to play the new Diablo game can you let mom know when you see her at the station?"
Maddie sighed but gave him a smile "yeah see you later and don't forget to call mom or Lucy if you need a ride home ok?"
"Yeah yeah see you later." He said and ran off giving her a wave.
Once noah was out of sight Maddie went to the subway to make a pit stop before heading to the 16th precinct. She got off the subway at the Brooklyn Station and walked a few blocks to a brownstone she had come to know well. She knocked on the door and walked in once her dealer kyler opened the door "hey." She smiled.
"Hey Mads. The usual stuff?" He asked.
"Yeah but put a few extra xannies in there for me." She replied.
He nodded and filled a couple dime bags for her and she handed him some cash she had been stashing all week.
"Just make sure your mom doesn't find out where you got them ok I got enough asshole police on me." He continued.
"Trust me she's the last person I'd ever let find out about this." She said hiding them in a small pocket of her backpack. "Got to go see her now but see you later." She said heading out the door as kyler chuckled lightly and rolled his eyes.
Maddie got back on the subway and headed to the precinct she walked in seeing her mom and the squad looking over a crime board so she quietly made her way to her mothers office and got comfortable on her couch.
Olivia finished up going over what they had on thier recent case and went to her office "hey sweetie. You got here a little late everything ok?"
"Yeah I just stopped by Jenna's apartment to get some math notes hers are always more organized then mine." She said.
Olivia nodded "and where is your troublemaker of a brother?" She teased.
"Oh he told me to tell you he was going to Andrew's to play some stupid new video game or something. I told him to call you if he needed a ride later." She smiled.
Olivia chuckled slightly "ok well I have to run out with amanda but you head strait home now ok and send me a text once your home."
"Ok mom" she rolled her eyes but hugged her before getting up and hugging her and leaving the squad room.

Once she got to the apartment she closed and locked the door and quickly texted olivia 'I'm home see you tonight be safe!'
She went to her room after grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge. She sat on her bed and grabbed a couple of the pills from one of the dime bags in her backpack and put them in her mouth and guzzler some water and then stashed the remainder away. She lay back on her bed as the drugs slowly took effect and she soon fell asleep from the effects.

Olivia checked her text and half smiled seeing the one from maddie.
Amanda noticed and said "how is she doing since she found out?"
"You mean that her father's out and the judge refuses to give us a restraining order? Not well. Everytime her nightmares seem to subside something always triggers them to start up again." She sighed "I just wish I could do more to help her overcome all of it."
"Your doing the best you can liv and she loves you." Amanda reassured.
"I don't know if I am. I get home and she spends most her time in the bedroom. If I didn't make her come by the precinct we would probably never interact with me." She continued.
"I doubt that's true liv." Amanda said trying to help her best friend feel better.
