Maddie Interrupted (abandoned in NYC book 2)

It had been 6 months since olivia had admitted maddie in to rehab. It hurt olivia almost everyday not being able to visit more than once or twice a month but she knew thus may be the only way to help maddie.

Olivia was at her apartment with Noah preparing to go pick her up and bring her home. The last few months olivia had taken precautions. She had changed the code on her gun safe. She had bought a lock box for all hers and maddies prescription medications. She was doing all she could to make sure maddie would stay on the right track this time. She had even filed an order of protection against Kurt so that if he tried to contact her again he could be arrested.

She drove with Noah sitting in the backseat behind her. Noah was nervous but keeping his mind busy by playing apps on his tablet. As they arrived olivia and noah got out of the car and made their way in to the rehab center. "I'm here to pick up my daughter Madelyn Benson." Olivia said to the desk clerk. Olivia was using finishing signing the release paperwork when maddie emerged from the side door of the lobby.

Noah rushed to his sister who he had missed quite a bit and hugged her. Maddie hugged him then looked at olivia nervously thinking maybe she was upset with her still, but instead olivia immediately hugged her tight. "You look sweetheart." Olivia said looking maddie over slightly.

Maddie smiled slightly and said "um...thanks mom."

"What do you guys think of stopping to get pizza and then just chilling out at home?" Olivia asked.

Both teens nodded and maddie said "that sounds amazingly normal."

Olivia chuckled slightly and put her arms around both her kids before heading out the door and helped maddie with her bag.

Once they got home they sat on the couch and ate pizza while watching the new marvel movie then Noah yawned and said "see yu guys in the morning."

Olivia picked up the empty plates as she said "night Noah and don't leave your headphones on all night." Olivia smiled.

Maddie felt strange but better being home as she stood to help olivia do dishes and clean up the kitchen.

Olivia stopped a moment and turned and hugged her daughter once more "I'm so glad your back home maddie."

Maddie bit her lip nervously but hugged her and looked down then said "your not angry with me anymore?" She asked.

"Oh maddie...I was never angry at you. I was angry at myself and I was extremely worried about you." She sighed "I know I get too involved in work sometimes....ok most the time but I'm trying to change that. I don't want to miss anything else in yours or Noah's lives anymore."

Maddie was playing with the hem of her dress as she said "so um...you don't regret taking me in...after my mom....you know." She mumbled.

"Maddie I have never regretted that. I love you just as much as I love Noah or I'd love a biological child. If I didn't want you I would have never agreed to be your mom." Olivia replied.

"I...I just know I haven't been the easiest kid to have around." She said in a low tone.

Olivia lifted maddies chin so they were looking in each other's eyes "no kid is easy but you have been a blessing in my life even with all the trials you and me have had to deal with." Olivia admitted and kissed her daughters cheek.

Maddie smiled with tears in her eyes and hugged olivia once more.
