Maddie Interrupted (abandoned in NYC book 2)

Maddie woke a couple hours later and blinked her eyes to get them to focus but she regretted it the moment she did as she looked around and noticed she was in the hospital. She looked to her side and seen olivia with her head leaning on the side of her bed asleep and her hand still clenching maddies.

"Fuck." Maddie mumbled under her breath knowing now that she would be in trouble yet again. Part of her wished she hadn't woke up. Maybe what the kids were saying was right. Maybe the people around her would be happier if she wasn't there.

Soon Maddie felt her mother stir awake and they met each others eyes.

Olivia sat up "thank God your awake." Olivia said with a sigh if relief.

"I...I'm sorry mom" she stuttered.

"Maddie what happened what were you thinking? I told you this had to stop yet somehow you still got ahold of the drugs?" Olivia said relived she was awake but upset Maddie had still been using.

"I tried mom I swear I did but.....things just kept piling on and I didn't want to worry you" she continued.

"Maddie was this an accident? Or were you trying to end your life?" Olivia finally asked.

Maddie wasn't sure how to answer that. She thought she'd done it accidentally but maybe deep down she was trying to end everything but she couldn't say that to olivia. Olivia had been so good to her and she had been nothing but trouble it seemed. "It was an accident." She finally said.

Olivia wanted to believe that but wasn't sure she really did. "Look I have collected some personal time, I'm gonna take some and we are going to work this out and get you better ok but you have to work with me Maddie.  You almost died. I almost lost you and that would have devastated me. You and noah your everything to me." She admitted.

"I know mom...I really am sorry" she replied.

"Also why didn't you tell me about the kids from school being so cruel?" She asked.

"What? How do you....you went through my phone?" Maddie said slightly upset.

"Maddie I had to know why you were doing this I knew it couldn't just be Kurt and I was right." Olivia sighed. "How did these rumors start and who started them?"

Maddie looked down "I'm not sure who started them....but....they started because....because someone seen me with kyler behind the bleachers at school."

"Kyler? I thought we agreed you weren't seeing him anymore?" Olivia said in slight shock "Maddie....are you haveing sex?" She asked.

She couldn't bare to admit that she was haveing sex with kyler to get the drugs so she half lied and said "I got back together with him for a bit but it's over now."

"Are you haveing sex maddie?" She asked again since Maddie hadn't really answered that question.

Maddie bit her lip nervously "yes." She finally admitted.

"Oh Maddie" she breathed trying to hide her disappointment right now.

Maddie just looked away a bit ashamed.
