'This is it; I gotta be perfect for her family' Ter thought in his head on the drive there. They finally arrived and go the reservations before the family. Ter ordered for himself and Hun which was of course the steak
And for him he got the shrimp which also came with everything else he loved. Ter saw Huns family come in the restaurant and stood to greet them. As they hugged and kissed Hun they gave a hug and a hand shake to him too. Around 20 people came in and the one who was last was of course her father. He hugged and kissed his daughter only to turn around and glare him in the eye. It was a stand off father and fake boyfriend.
'Well then' thought Ter. "Let's all take our seats," said Mrs.Carr. Everyone at the table grabbed their napkins and put them on their lap. Hun sat up straight and waited for her drink while Ter continued to wonder why her father gave him that look. As he wondered, the drinks came out.... And so did the chef. Hun's heart started pounding in her chest. Ter turned and mouthed the words "are you ok?". Hun nodded her head but clearly wasn't feeling safe. Ter mouthed once more, "Remember what I said, you can hide behind me." Hun slid closer to Hun and buried her face in his arm. Mr.Carr gave Ter a death stare but Ter tried to ignore it. "Ok, I'm going to go over what everyone got," said the waiter. He went around the table listing everyone's food correctly and pulled out the knives. Ter tried to keep Hun distracted so she didn't look up but Hun heard the clanking of the knives against the stove.
She jumped at each clank. Each time grabbing harder onto Ters arm. "Is this helping any?" Ter whispered in her ear.
Hun nodded and jumped as she heard a clank closer to her face. But this time it was the chef clanking by her ear and laughing. Ter just rubbed Huns arm and played it off until he did it again. This time Hun yelped and and started to shake a lot harder. Ter quickly stood up slamming his arm on the table as mr.carr and the family was laughing at Hun.
"Why the hell are you laughing! Can't you see she's scared to death of those things..." Hun than ran out of the restaurant. "And you as parents should know this because she was here with you, Mrs.Carr!.." Mrs.Carr coughed and whipped the corner of her lips on her napkin. "Now if you excuse me..." Ter quickly grabbed his crutches and shuffled after Hun. As he left her dad had a smirk on his face.
Ter finally caught up to Hun outside. "I'm sorry you had to experience that," said Ter. "If it makes you feel any better, I stood up for you." Ter got closer to her and have her a hug. He saw a tear drip down her cheek. "It's okay Hun," said Ter trying to cheer her up. At this point, Huns phone started ringing. It was her mother. "Come back in Hun. We didn't mean to laugh at you. That boyfriend of yours stood up for you and stormed out with you," said Mrs.Carr. Hun smiled and held Ter's hand as they went back to the table. "Don't we have something to say to Hun?" asked Mrs.Carr. The whole table in unison said "We are sorry." Hun smiled once more and took her seat just in time as the food came out.
"I know ya'll don't mean it Cuz u said like that, but I'm going to pretend you mean it because I'm hungry" the whole table laughed.
Hun took Ters hand under the table and looked him in the eyes "thank you for all of this"
"I didn't do anything Ter laughed.
"Yes you did. You are putting up with this."
'I could put up with this any day for you!' He thought in his head but only said "yeah it's no big deal"
The table continued eating until Mrs.Carr asked "So how did you two meet?" Hun and Ter were at a loss of ideas. They looked at eachother hoping that the other would know what to say.
