The Deal

Chapter 10

     Ter woke up with a jolt. His hand was against the cold indent in the bed.
"Hun? Shit!" Ter thought.
He noticed the crutches in the corner still. He quickly put on pajama pants. He went downstairs. He noticed no one else was up so he began to make breakfast. "Omelettes! Yeah they should all like that" Ter thought.
He heard the shower going and and set the table. He quickly grabbed pieces of paper and wrote "Merry Christmas Eve."  On Huns it said under neath "I need to tell u something."
Hun came limping out of the shower in nothing but two towels and an extra one just in case.
"Hey!" Yelled Ter in the door way.
"HOLY SHIT!" Hun screamed, basically collapsing. Ter ran and scooped her up.
"Haha, let me princess!"
Hun laughed and let him carry her. He put her down, winked grabbed her towel wrapped around her body, and yanked it as he ran out the door so he wouldn't see anything.
"I hate you" Hun teased.
Ter laughed mischievously. Every one was sitting at the table and Hun came down in her leggings, sweater, and boots. She slid in near her mom, a crossed from Ter. Ter grabbed her hand. "So I have to tell you. I am going to go back to college next year, After New Years."
" oh awesome! Your gonna go to the same college as me and take higher degree classes?"
"No, I'd be moving...."
Hun dropped her fork.
"What!!!"
"Let me explain"
Hun jumped up and ran to the door"
"HUDSAN! STOP!" Ter started running after her.
"Let her go, she needs time!" Mrs. Carr grabbed his arm.
Hun got her jacket, and hat. You could see her run past the window down the trail in the back yard to the ice skating ride with a pavilion. She sat on the seat in the pavilion and started to tear. 'What a great Christmas Eve for me.' She noticed the beautiful crystal lights weren't plugged in. She started crying harder at memories of the rink.
*4 hours past and she was still out there*
Ter started to panic at her missing presence. He made 2 hot chocolates and quickly ran out to trail trying to find his way to the rink.
     Ter walked over to Hun on the bench and sat down. Hun turned away trying to ignore him.
"Baby, I'm sorry. I didn't know it would be that bad. But I need a higher degree to pursue my new career field. I was hoping you would understand."
"I do understand. I just don't like it. Why? Why are you so comfortable leaving me?"
"I'm not. When I finally came to this decision I was heartbroken. I would miss you. We still have another week together. Wanna make the best of it?" Ter said with a smile as he tried to hand Hun the mug.
"I'm sorry for walking out on you." She kissed him.
They both sat back on te bench looking at the ice. The icicles from the trees sparkled in the sun.
"You know what this ice reminds me of?" Ter asked.
"What?"
"The sparkle and shine in your eyes."
"Aww" she hugged him.
"So... Are you okay now?"
"Okay with what?"
"The me leaving thing?"
"I don't like it, but if it makes you happy, I can live."
"And if I get a good paying job in this field, I can spoil you. It's only a little while. And we can always talk while I'm there."
"I will miss you."
"I'll miss you too, Hun."
Hun stood up and grabbed Ter's hand pulling him up off the bench.
"Let's go and enjoy our week together." she smiled.
     They get back to the cabin and see the family on the couches around the tree.
"There is food in the warming drawer of the stove of your hungry"
Mrs.Carr said
"Well no shit mom..."
"AY!" Mrs.Carr points to the swear jar.
"UGH"
Ter laughed and put the money in. They cuddled up on the couch as the younger family played with budd. And a young girl, named Janet came up to hun. And snuggled up to her.
"Who's she?" Ter chuckled
"She my little cousin but I consider her my little sister"
"Very cute"
They all dosed offs cuddled and spooning. Hour or two later they all woke up! They had to open one family present / friend gift. They all say a crossed the couch. Ter went to the bathroom and all Huns little cousins/family gathered around her (4 of them boys & Janet) Ter chuckled as he saw this and the. Sat by the fire place. Hun had Janet on her lap helping her open Christmas presents. Hun gave her a butterfly necklace that says little sister and Hun wore the big sister. Hun loved to watch everyone's expression. The next person to get gifts was Hun.
