The Deal

Chapter 9

"I told u about the rules..." Nudged Hun.
"Oh ok."
Mrs. Carr laughed and asked for their car keys. They put their car keys into the bag & cell phones, but Ter and hun kept there's secretly. It didn't matter they could only contact people in the house because there was no service.
Mrs. Carr wrote on the jar; Swear Jar
"Shit.." Hun muffled under her breath.
"AY! That's a dollar!" Mrs.Carr said.
Ter grabbed Huns hand shook his head no. He pulled out his wallet and put a dollar in for her.
"Imma go get the gifts" hun said.
"Wait where?" Ter said
"In the car, I hide them under the seats & where the spare tire is, so u wouldn't find them." Hun smirked. She ran out onto the porch only to slip on ice and down the stairs.
     Ter sat around the table with the Carr family.
"So how was your drive here?" asked Mrs.Carr.
"Tedious," he laughed,"If it wasn't for Hun, I would've lost my mind."
"I gotcha. That was a long drive. But we are used to it by now."
"Well all that matters is we made it here in one piece. Anyway, I'm going to go see if Hun needs any help."
Ter walked over to the bedroom to grab his jacket and opened the front door to see Hun on the floor. He ran down the stairs.
"Are you okay?!?"
"I think. Ow. I think it may have sprained my ankle."
"Do you want me to call your parents out here?"
"No no. I'll be ok. Could you please help me up?"
Ter helped her up and she sat down in the stairs.
"We are so lucky I planned ahead," he said.
He walked over to the car and opened the trunk. Out of the trunk he got his crutches from the other day.
"Here you go"
He walked over to Hun and handed her the crutches.
     Hun laughed trying to use the crutches that were up to her forehead. "Uk what can u just carry me up the stairs so I can Hubble inside?"
Ter busts out laughing at hun. "Stahhhhp!" Yells hun.
Ter scoops her up as if he was a lifeguard saving her from drowning.
"Well thank u good sir" Hun winks.
Ter gets the door open and Hun snuggled into his chest. Ter looked down to see her eyes closed. He walked up the three flights of stairs and places them on the bed (on their level)
'She must of passed out from the pain...' Ter thought to himself. He began to take off her jacket and her boots. Only to see her swollen ankle. Hun yipped in pain several times. All of a sudden u heard footsteps running up the stairs. The door swung open to see her dad there. He pushed Ter away from her (not able to see he was helping her)
"Mr.Carr watch for her ank-" as he already hit it.
"HOLY SHIT!" She yelled sitting up quickly.
Her dad looked startled.
"But-but- are you ok?"
Mr.Carr said awkwardly.
"She hurt her ankle slipping on ice. She could of been stuck out there for the whole time If I didn't go out there!" Ter yelled! "I was gonna come down after i elevated her ankle for less swelling and brought in the presents."
Ter quickly put up her ankle and walked out the room in a heavy huff.
"Im sorry sweetie!" Her dad said tracing her hair.
"Ik but go tell him that" she said in a strict but caring voice, with a tear running down the side of her face. "I can't believe u tho, u don't trust us. You have known me since I was born and him since he was 5... Come on, dad"
     Ter went downstairs to the living room and sat across the table from Mrs.Carr.
"Hey Ter, where is Hun?" she asked.
"Upstairs in bed. She hurt her ankle."
"Oh my g-"
"Don't worry about it. I elevated it," he cut her off.
"Oh. Thank you."
"No problem. I just tried to help."
At the time Mr.Carr came down the stairs looking for Ter. He spotted him talking to Mrs.Carr.
"Hey Terrence? Could I speak to you real quick?"
"I guess"
Ter gets up and walks with Mr.Carr to the kitchen where they both sat down at the island.
"Listen, I'm sorry about pushing you. I should've trusted you to take care of her."
"Mr.Carr, you should know by now that I wouldn't do anything disrespectful to your daughter. I just tried to help. May I please go upstairs and go checkup on her after we speak?"
"Sure. You could go up now. Thank you for watching over her."
"It's my pleasure," Ter said as he puts out his arm to shake Mr.Carr's hand. Mr.Carr gave Ter a hug instead. Ter then said one final thank you before he went upstairs to check up on Hun.
"You ok?" Ter asked.
"Did he apologize?"
"Yes. Are you ok?"
"Better than on the ice outside in the cold. Thank you," she laughed.
     "Not a problem," Ter said with a smile " I'm glad you're ok" he grabbed her knee."well I'll let you rest!"
"No! No! Stay. I don't like being alone on the third floor"
"Okay! I'll stay" Ter said
Hun slid over on her bed. Ter climbed up and laid next to her, cuddled up. With the fire crackling the holiday movies on, it felt like a movie/book! Budd barked at Ters side. He picked him up and laid him on the bed. They were all cuddled together. It was about 11 o'clock as they all fell asleep. Mr. & Mrs. Carr came upstairs to their room and knocked. No answer so they slowly came in and saw them. Huddled and calmly sleeping. Ter slowly woke up... And freaked as he as Mr.Carr "AHHH!" He yelled as he fell off the bed in shock.
Mr.Carr helped him up.
"Sorry we came up to offer you hot chocolate."
     "Thank you," said Ter," I don't know about Hun. She has had a long day and I don't want to wake her. But I'll come down for some if that's ok."
"Of course, Terrence."
Mr.Carr and Ter walked down to the kitchen where he was making hot chocolate. Mr.Carr handed him a glass.
"Thank you."
"No problem. So how is work?"
"It's good. But I was thinking about going back to college for a higher degree."
"That's a very mature thing to do."
"Thanks. But I don't know how to break it to Hun."
"Just be honest with her. I'm sure she will understand."
"That's true. I will probably tell her tomorrow. But as of now, I am pretty tired. Please excuse me."
"Goodnight Terrence," Ter heard from the kitchen on his way upstairs.
Ter crept back upstairs and slowly opened the door to their room. He saw Hun's eyes flutter open.
"Ter? Where were you?"
"Don't worry about it haha. Go back to sleep, beautiful."
Hun closed her eyes once more and drifted off and Ter put his mug of cocoa on the nightstand and laid down next to her. He soon drifted off as well.
