Artemis POV:
I had enough of the complaints by my hunters about the 'Assassins' and their so called 'Brotherhood'. Once I heard of the Assassins back in the 16th century, after they discovered us, and ONE of them had a 'little mistake' (and I eventually turned that boy into a jackalope). The Assassins first thought I was young due to my decided form, but they know I'm their leader, or more like their adoptive mother as I have my maiden oath. Me and the Assassins argued for ages. I argued of my hunters are more important and respectable, and how the Assassins have no purpose here, and vice versa for the Assassins. And so we fought, eventually into battles before, and never forgave each other. And to top it off, my father is allowing them to stay, as he says they do have purpose, but will not say why he thinks so. I finally had to put my foot down and end this talk about the 'Assassins', and hopefully stop the Assassins from coming near me or my hunters again, for GOOD. I used my deity power and teleported myself to the center palace of Olympus, all away from the redwood forest of San Francisco, where my hunters are camping. For the Olympian council, I made myself into my older looks, which I had not much intention of showing off as, and I made my form up to nine feet high for my throne.
I stomped my way into the council room, pushing open both of the giant golden doors, only to see my father Zeus, my uncle Poseidon at their thrones, whilst Hestia sat at and attended to her hearth in the center of the temple, as she poked the coals around with her burnt stick. My father and Poseidon seemed to have been arguing just before I just barged in, because I could hear my dad angrily mumbling about something. My father wore his blue pinstripe suit with the red tie, along with his long stormy black and grey hair, and he finally cut his beard, above his upper lip leaving a fuzz and neatly trimmed beard on his lower lip. As for Poseidon, he wore his khaki shorts, sandals, and a new blue and sea green Hawaii shirt.
Hestia quietly sighed, a frown on her face and she just kept looking down at the burning fire, as the fire reflected the light on her brown dress. I was guessing it was due to see her two brothers arguing once again, but I found it nothing new, since they always threatened war on each other. "Father"! I yelled, "I can't stand it"! He stared down at me and looked both offended as I yelled at him, but also confused. "Artemis, what is it now?! I am in a conversation with Poseidon here". I knelt, and said calmly, "I am sorry father, but I need a request. It is urgent-".
"I will see to it" my father interrupted, "AFTER, my conversation with Poseidon. So why don't you take a seat in your throne while you wait".
"But father, this is-"
"NOW"!
I poured my face, and stomped off towards my throne, made of clean animal pelts. I always hated my father like this, whenever he's in a bad mood, which he ALWAYS is. I sat down, leaned on my hand as I rested my arm on the armrest. Zeus and Poseidon both continued their argument, this time closeup, quietly, and in Greek language. I could only hear certain parts of the conversation, but what really standard out, was when they mentioned this. "...but brother" Poseidon said, "when will this prophecy come?! If my son is involved, then he might be killed within time. And I always thought he was missing ". Wait! Perseus is missing, or WAS missing? Why was I not informed of this, but I guess my father has his ways of keeping these little things silent.
"If he is the prophet, I will keep him safe. If not... Then he is risking himself outside the camp's borders for too long. And he WILL die"! Anger has coursed through Poseidon's body that his form started to nearly glow into his true form. Poseidon stood up, and struck the full end of his trident down on the floor. "DON'T YOU DARE SPEAK OF MY SON LIKE THAT ZEUS!!! He is no threat, and he will not die, whether by your or a monster's hands"! I saw the anger in my father's face, and I heard the sound of lightning booming in the distance of the dark clouds, and he gripped his lightning bolt as it crackled in the air. "do not let my appearance fool your expectation on my ANGER BROTHER"! Zeus yelled. "THE BOY WILL LIVE IF HE SURVIVES!!! If not, then he is a lost man". Poseidon's eyes narrowed, and I saw his arm gripping on his trident as his knuckles turned white. Great family reunion (sarcasm). "My son is one of my priorities, and responsibility. Whether if he is alone, afraid, or surrounded by death, if he dies, I shall never forgive you, or myself". Zeus's anger looked furious, until he then let out a small breath, looked down at the floor, and finally said "very well, I will allow his protection only this once. And no more". Poseidon's anger went down as he loosened the grip of his trident and sat back down. "I can't believe I say this , but... Thank you brother". Poseidon got up from his throne, and started walking out of the council, "I will return to my palace, and only come back to Olympus for emergencies" he last said, before vanishing into a mist of sea scented water and disappeared.
"Now that that's out of the way" my father said, "what is are troubles Artemis". I got up from my throne, and stood before my father, kneeling to him. "Father, I came to ask for a request" I said, as he started to stroke his beard. "Yes"? He asked, as I got up I explained my troubles. "It's trouble with the hunt. They are growing more cautious and more worried by the hour of our enemies".
"And who would that be" my father asked, "you are Hunter, you travel the world in search of monsters to kill, and-". "I'm not talking about the monsters father" I said, interrupting him. He narrowed his eyebrows, and I knew I made a mistake of interrupting him. "Sorry, father". "It is quite alright, please, continue". And so I continued to speak. "It's not monsters that I'm talking about father, it's... It's those Assassins that are making my hunters worry". My father stroke his beard, once more, and stood up from his throne. "This conversation is over" he said, as he walked around Hestia's hearth. "What"?! I asked, following my father as he almost exited the Olympian council room. "Father, please. I need to stop these Assassins from coming near my hunters. I just need-". My father turned and cut me off, saying "enough, young Artemis. I had already told you, the Assassins need to remain for as long as I decide, or if they decide. So as I said, no".
"But father, why do you let them stay? Why are they so important to you"?
My father looked down, looking as though he thought about it, until he said, "I just can't just tell you now, it is vitally important". He was about to walk out by placing his hand on the golden doors handles, before I said "I am not a child anymore, I don't need to wait any longer for what I NEED to know. So please just tell me, why do you let the Assassins stay"? My father stared at me, with the angry look in his eyes, and I knew I made the wrong mistake of being a brat, but believe me, me and my brothers Apollo and Hermes have done worse. Instead, my father sighed, and the angry look on my father faded, and he removed his hand from the door. Looking at me directly in the eye, he said "you are right, you aren't a child anymore. So... Now you shall now". My father walked back towards his throne, and sat down, and so did I on my throne. "You see Artemis... I know that both the hunters, and the Assassins don't get along, not ever since they came across each other five centuries ago. But to be accurate... The Assassins and Hunters... Well, the will one day have to put aside their rivalries and work together". I raised a brow. My hunters and the Assassins working together, "how is that possible"? He put his hands together, and continued on. "Once, while you were leading your hunt with your lieutenant Zoë, back before even both of the Assassins and Hunters met, your brother Apollo, had came across to a new prophecy, which had he came across in the 14th century, two hundred years earlier. The three fates decided the fates of Apollo's prophecy, so it is a true one". "But what is the prophecy"? I asked. He relaxed his arms on the armrest of his throne, and spoke my brother's prophecy;
"Half-Bloods and Mortals will unite and prevail. All to follow the Assassin's trail.
Hunters and Assassins will unite in peace. Their wars and battles put aside to cease.
All shall lead their travel past the land of gods. And shall retrieve what was lost, at all odds.
One will be lost in the betrayal of family. Mortals, Half-Bloods, and Hunters shall live in harmony".
Once he finished telling the lines of the prophecy, I thought, 'how are my Hunters and Assassins going to unite. What is it about 'Half-Bloods and Mortals' uniting together. Who will be betrayed by a family? And most of all, what is it that will be lost"? All of these questions were rambling inside my head, that I felt like most of my golden ichor blood was rushing towards my head, making it harder for me to think of this. "F-father... I don't think I can understand any of this" I said, rubbing my forehead. "Are you alright Artemis"? "Yes father". I removed my hand from my forehead, and looked back at my father. "Now you see why I let those Assassins remain" he said. "Because if we interfere with them, we interfere with the prophecy, and obviously the fates wouldn't like that. Do you understand now"? I nodded, and said "yes, father". He nodded and said "you may leave now, Artemis". "Thank you father", I last said, before teleported in a being of light, and reappeared into my own palace.
I haven't stayed here much, so everything is the same way I left it. The torches on my walls still were lit. My bed of animal furs still made and clean, my walls had animal pendants, furs and horns hung. Along my shelves were animal teeth and claws, bears, wolves, jaguar, and many other teeth and claws that would give a biological ranger a heart attack. But what I really favoured about my room, is my collection of hand crafted strong bows, crafted from bones and celestial bronze or gold. My favourite, was the one that was set above my bed. A golden crafted bow, made with sleek curves and excellent grooves that my sister Athena would love. The special thing about it, was that it contained a power, to control mortal minds to the holders will, and it'd glow in a faint golden light, and there were many few weapons or object with that same power, which those mortal Assassins call 'Pieces of Eden'. Anyway, I don't care. All I had to do was keep my calm, and don't let the Assassins bother me, but it doesn't mean I'll stop them from coming near my Hunters, especially if the prophecy doesn't come true soon. As I looked off out through the window, the sun was setting, and night was falling. So I decided to sleep in in my palace, and lead my hunters tomorrow. So I blew the torches out, fell onto my bed, and slept in.
