Percy POV:
The moment when I nearly had to explain the truth of how I was actually an Assassin that was walking amongst them, I felt like I was gonna have a mental breakdown. I'm not Annabeth, so I couldn't think up something to say to avert the topic away. But there was no choice, the truth was meant to be told, and I had to convince them the Assassins were good, not evil. I nearly had the stress a SWAT bomb defuser would have when disarming a bomb (don't tell me how I know what that feels like).
So I had to stand, and announce who I was, even if it killed me. But when I was about to say 'I'm an Assassin', a blurting, loud alarm set off in the dining hall and all the way up and down the ship that nearly busted my eardrums. Leo had began to panic as soon as the alarm went off, and he grabbed his miniature touch-screen tablet and inspected it. The fact how his eyes widened as he looked at his tablet, it didn't calm me down at all. "Guys, we're under attack"! Leo yelled, and put the tablet back down. Oh great, more monsters who want to have a go at me. But I was panicking as much as the other were, as we stampeded towards the emergency armoury, and we grabbed our armour and weapons. I already had Riptide in my pocket, ready to use, everyone already knew that. But what the others didn't know is that I had my hidden blade around my wrist underneath my grey hoodie, just in case. EVERYONE GRAB YOUR ARMOUR"!!! Annabeth yelled like She was giving orders. We all rushed and scrambled to grab our armour to put on, from head to toe. I placed on my torso, wrists, and leg armour, and helmet, and tightened all the straps. I readied Riptide in my hand, and was ready to fight. "WE'RE UNDER ATTACK BY MONSTERS"!!! Annabeth once again commanded. All of us nodded as all us were were prepared with our armour and weapons.
After placing our armour on, one by one we ran up the stairs, carrying our weapons. Thalia with her spear, hunting knives and bow. Piper with only Katoptris. Leo with a large sledge hammer. Hazel with her Spatha. So on and so forth, as we ran up the stairs, Annabeth yelled "Leo, Frank, Hazel, you take the helm! Thalia, you go up the last and take out any air support! Me, Percy, Jason, and Piper will hold our position on the main deck! Do not let the Argo fall"! But before the rest of us could reach the upper deck, Thalia made it first, and replied "I suppose we're gonna have trouble with that".
"Why"? Annabeth asked.
Once all of us reached the upper deck, we stood in shock, as we got our answer. We were caught too high into the clouds that would've given Thalia altitude sickness, and the clouds created a cover of mist. The perfect reason for monsters to ambush us. "Oh what the Hades" Annabeth exclaimed, we looked around, there were no signs of any figures in the mist, but that didn't mean he kept our guards down. "Well this is gonna be more harder than we thought" Jason spoke.
And all of a sudden, all of us heard faint footprints against the wooden planks of the deck, we directed our bodies and weapons towards it as the footprints became more louder and were coming towards us. And in the most we began to see a dark figure in the mist, one leg shaped humanly, but the other shaped like that of a goat, and a faint flaming light by it's head. Strange... The only type of creature I could remember who resembled that was... Oh no... The figure became more clear as she revealed herself from the mist. I first remembered her having golden blonde hair that reached down to her shoulder, even after showing her true colours, even with no colour in her pale white skin. Her rusty bronze leg gave no shimmer and creaked when it moved, and was no similar to her other leg which was that of a donkey's. She wore a blue high school cheerleader's uniform like the one she wore the first time. This time, her hair was flaming with no smoke emitted from it, with no sign of her blonde hair anymore. I remember it like it was a few years ago, because she was the one who wanted to offer me a kiss just to devour my soul.
"Why hello, Percy Jackson" she spoke.
"Tammi"!
"Long time no see"! She hissed with an evil grin on her face to show off her pearly-white, sharp teeth. "How has Tartarus been for you? Kelli was a bit... Upset with your visit. But don't worry, I wish to avenge her, by destroying you, AND your demigod friends"! She licked her lips. "Save the chit chat" Annabeth said, "first of all, how did you even got on board?!?! Second of all, where are the rest of your allies-"? "And third of all..." Leo spoke, "GET OFF MY SHIP"!!! Tammi hungrily licked her lips as she continued to give that evil grin, "oh but I cannot do that, as my master requires you all to be finished so we may continue OUR mission. So I will let my little friends to deal with you". And suddenly a group of Dracanae dropped down from out of nowhere, each of them with bronze armour and wielding either swords, bows, or knives. Each with two snake trunks instead of legs and had dragon-like wings that looked too small for them. "deal with them"!
And we were all charged at once, with me, Annabeth, Jason and Piper have taken the fight towards the mortars where Annabeth wielded her sword and I had her back, one Dracanae had tried to slice my by my chest, but I had deflected the blow with the flat of my sword and spun around as her hand was suddenly sliced off with my blade. Losing her hand she shrieked and I stabbed my sword through her heart, suddenly turning her into dust. Behind me, Annabeth was being overrun by two Dracanae. I went to help her out, by striking my sword at one who did not deflect fast enough, losing a head to turn into nothing but dust, and was blown away. Annabeth deflected the blow of a sword against the flat of hers and sliced straight through the waist as it shrieked and it too was dust. Looking around, Jason and Piper were cutting through Dracanae like they were butter, killing the last two with their blades with the flick of their wrists (A/N: lol, I am so, so very... VERY sorry). "You guys good"? I asked, Piper and Jason replied with a nod and said "yeah, we're okay". A scream suddenly caught our attention, as we turned to see Leo holding back a Dracanae with his hammer but was pinned as it tried to bite at him. That hammer was the only thing keeping him alive, as Hazel and Frank were being occupied with a group of other Dracanae, and Thalia was shooting down ones that were flying and shooting back at her. "LEO"!!! Piper screamed for her friend, and charged to rescue him, with us behind her back. Pacing faster than her, I got to help Leo first as I easily cut the Dracanae's head off, leaving a shower of dust over Leo. With a sigh of relief, he thanked me, "jeez, thanks Aqua boy- LOOK OUT"! I turned and dodged out of the way, as one of the Dracanae tried to stab at me with her knife, but I sideswiped just in time before it could make contact with me. Can't say the same for it as Leo lifted his hammer up and with a mighty blow struck it down on top of the head, and killing it instantly. "Thanks, I guess we're even now". Leo nodded, and I watched as Hazel and Frank took down the last Dracanae and Thalia jumped down gracefully (no pun intended). And we regrouped at the helm, and Thalia asked "is everyone alright"? We nodded in response. "Alright, good news; we've held them off, and we are still very much alive. Bad news; it seems Tammi got away". Looking around, Hazel asked "well where did she go? And what did she mean about 'her master' and 'their mission'"? Suddenly the mist of the clouds had dissipated, helping us see the bright blue sky, and the shimmering domain of Apollo, the sun. Luckily we weren't that high or Thalia would've passed out by now, but I wanted to go by the railing to see if there weren't any more baddies climbing up on the hull. Luckily there was none, but looking down I saw a great view of the bright green forest filled with pine and spruce trees littered around, and no sign of much road except a dirt trail. The trail led up to a heavy forest lined with trees and a small stream which I could feel was connected to the Mississippi River, but looking down at the trail it looks like a group of mortal people pulled over in a black SUV, probably tourists or travellers who pulled over for directions or to admire the view. The only thing was, I think I... Recognize them. "Hey Leo"? I asked.
"Yeah"?
"Can you hand me a pair of binoculars"?
"Oh, yeah" he reached into his tool belt and pulled out a pair of binoculars to me. Looking through the eyesights, I zoomed into view of the people who parked on the side of the trail. Their vehicle was starting to smoke through the grille, obviously their ride broke down. That wasn't my real concern. My real concern was the fact I DID recognize them, it was Emily and her sister Elizabeth, the De Mérciér sisters. I smiled in surprise, what a coincidence. "Glad to see you again" I whispered to myself. "What? What do you see Percy"? Annabeth asked behind me, ignoring her, I looked off into the trees, only to realize that they're in trouble. "...oh no"! "What"? Annabeth asked. I handed her the binoculars and pointed towards the trees closely to the trail. "Those... Those people they're gonna get killed"! I exclaimed as I believe Annabeth just saw what I saw. "There's a group of Dracanae, they're going after them and they're gonna die"! Annabeth set the binoculars down and said "Percy, we barely held our own with them a minute ago. We can't just go down there and take them head on like they did to us, we can't-". "We just can't let them die"! I exclaimed, being sorry for the tone in my voice I spoke in, but what was I supposed to do, tell her I know those people and say we're all Assassins? I couldn't, not right now. "Annabeth, we're demigods. We're supposed to save the mortals, not just let them die. Please". I imagined myself making a pouting face like a little kid who wanted a piece of candy at a candy store. Annabeth let out a sigh, but instead of answering no, she made a little smile and said "Nothing seems to get by your loyalty, doesn't it Seaweed Brain" she placed a hand on my cheek and looked into my eyes. "Okay, we'll descend and try to help them", she gave me a kiss on the lips, and walked towards Leo. "Leo, we need to land the Argo, NOW"! She yelled out to him at the helm. Well there's good news and bad news... Again. Good news; I'm luckily gonna rescue Emily after convincing Annabeth. Bad news; Annabeth's not gonna be happy to see her.
