Emily POV:
Well, I am completely turned around right now. Not only do I know that monsters exist, but the Percy, his friends Leo, Annabeth, and the others are all actually the bloodline of the Greek or Roman gods. I thought I knew much of Percy before, but being told that he is the son of the god of the sea, Poseidon. Then again, I guess it explains why there was no relevance in his file of his blood-father, or all of the mishaps he performed years ago when he was younger. And I guess that since the gods, monsters, and demigods exist, it explains so many strange things that I've seen. You see, in my past, I already had the sense of Eagle Vision, the 'Sixth Sense', and I had the ability to see anything that wasn't there in normal vision. In Eagle Vision, I sometimes saw crazy things like monsters roaming around people like they didn't exist, and nobody noticed them, like the Dracanae 'Snake Women'. I always told Izzy I saw monsters walking around me, but I guess she never saw them.
I thought that all the Greek and Roman Myths were just that; Myths. But now I had to accept the fact, they are very. VERY. Real.
Now, I joined Percy and his friends as we made way to London; home of Big Ben, Queen Elizabeth, and twin Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye. Although, I feel as though most of them don't trust me, such as Piper's boyfriend, Jason, or that girl Thalia. And I felt as though Emily had a negative feeling around them. But, my biggest concern is Percy and his relationship with Annabeth. As if this were some sort of teen movie, I was the one standing in the way of someone else's love life, and it came to me that Percy already was in a relationship
With someone else, BEFORE I started one with him. I could see that Annabeth loved him very much, but... So did I. We could both see the loyalty and bravery in him, not afraid to talk down an honest challenge and can't... No, WON'T back down. There were the attributes I saw in him, and Annabeth saw that too. I couldn't let him break her heart, so for my sake, I decided to avoid it. Avoid how we had emotions for each other, avoid hurting someone, and avoid Percy for taking the blame. It was my fault anyways.
As we entered the dining room, I was amazed by the holographic projection of two different locations; one was a camp in the middle of a thick forest, with a total of 20 cabins, a volleyball net, a beach and lake, and a large house painted blue. The other was more organized and orderly fashioned, with a large senate house, barracks, streets filled with Roman-stylized houses and shops. Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter, Percy told me; the Greek and Roman camps. So whilst we sat, Percy explained to me a bit more of his life, of his quests to save the world, the camps, and the gods from not only the Titan lord Kronos, but how he recently came out from to put an end the Mother Earth, Gaea and her Giant children from destroying civilization and the gods. Not only that, but he and Annabeth had became the only known survivors of Tartarus, the most deeper parts of the underworld. It's hard to even think how something like that could happen, but in Percy's eyes, it seems plausible it did. Looking how Percy's life went through, it didn't seem that easy. But what become extremely interesting, was when Percy began to explain how he and Thalia were not meant to exist. "-so after the Second World War was over, Zeus, my dad and Hades all swore on the River Styx to never have any more children because of the prophecy the Oracle of Delphi spoke, how a child of the Big Three would either put an end to the gods of save them. So they couldn't have any more children, and Hades his two of his children in the Lotus Hotel and Casino to hide them from Zeus; Nico and Bianca Di Angelo. But years later, Zeus broke the oath to fall in love with an actress named-". "Um, Percy"?! Thalia exclaimed before he could finish. "...oh, right" he continued, "but, years after that, my mom fell in love with Poseidon after her uncle died, and she was trying to earn money again for college. And then I was born, the third child of the Big Three after they swore their oath. So, I was kind of a threat to them. And that's why I wasn't meant to be born, in their eyes". "Amazing" was all Izzy could say, although she doesn't look that interested. "That's, crazy! Why would they even swear that oath in the first place. It wasn't their fault their children acted like that. And It's not like it was their fault they were born". "That was our point. But everyone was afraid of them because they were stronger than normal Half-Bloods, even the gods were afraid of them".
"That was until Percy requested them to swear off that oath, and accept their children" Annabeth said, "not only that, but he also asked them to not forget or ignore their children, and to create cabins for the minor gods as well since some Half-Bloods were children of minor gods". That was amazing how he could make things right, and not forget those who look up to him. "Wow... You... You had some helluva life, did you Percy"?
He sighed at the response, replying "yeah, it was hard, but, we got through it together". He had an arm around Annabeth, feeling the warmth between them both, and I knew she loved it.
"So, how did you guys become Assassins"? Hazel had asked. Oh man, I never thought I was gonna answer a question like that. "Please... We don't wanna talk about it" I replied, a hand over my eyes. "Why not"? Frank asked.
"She said drop it" Izzy spoke.
I felt the pressure building inside of me, of my unspeakable past. It was too hard to even think about it, much less tell it. Even Izzy knew it. And at the same moment, Piper and Jason came in with a handful of a few bronze goblets. Placing one by each seat on the table. Handing one to me and Izzy, I looked in to see there was a full glass of... Nothing. And there was no butcher placed on the table. Piper and Jason sat next to us, and she hinted at me, "they're enchanted. You can ask for any kind of drink you want in it, and you can change it". Listening to her, I looked down, and whispered "um... Ginger Ale"? And just like that, a fizzy ginger scented liquid poured itself in. I took a slight, cautious sip, and it tasted like normal Ginger Ale. Then, I got a better idea. "Cranberry Ginger Ale", and the liquid changed to a dark red colour, and I took another sip to taste it was different. Cranberry Ginger Ale was probably my favourite drink since I tasted it during a Christmas Party once, and I technically like any Cranberry flavoured drink. Whilst Izzy ignored the goblet and sat with her arms crossed. "So, how does it taste"? She asked. "It's not that bad. Not as good compared to the original though".
"That's the magic of a... Well, magic gauntlet" Percy said.
Gotta say, after seeing the friendly hospitality from the others, minus Thalia, these guys don't seem that bad, and I wanted to put the craziness behind me. "So..." Annabeth spoke, as I took another sip. "...what is it that's so important that we had to change course to London"? Setting my goblet down, I took out a picture of the Abstergo Industries building in London, and passed it to her. "This is where me and Izzy are trying to find a lead to the Piece of Eden. One which we call the 'Bow of Eden'". She examined the photo for a few seconds. "You mean, Artemis's Golden Bow"? Hazel asked. I replied in a nod. "Yes. Or so what you call it. You see-".
"It was believed to be recorded through most of history" Izzy exclaimed, cutting me off. "It was recorded to be used in such wars and battles. Like for instance, it was passed down by Chinese and Japanese, Greek, and Roman archers used it in battle, and the bow gave them the skill and ability of supreme archery, making them capable of cutting down entire armies. Imagine if the Templars got their hands on it"! Annabeth took another look at the photo once more, and said "so the Templars could use items like these to control the minds of people, AND, destroy those who oppose them"? "Yes. And that's why we have to stop them. So we're going to London, the home of Jacob and Evie Frye. Assassins who lived during the Industrial Revolution".
"What's so special about them"? Jason asked.
"Well, during the Industrial Revolution, they needed assistance in taking down a rival street gang called the Blighters, A.K.A. the Templars. So Jacob had the idea to create and control a gang of his own to fight back against them and their leader; Crawford Starrick. The Rooks. The Rooks mostly consisted of people who were forced to work under abusive conditions at factories, with very little pay and most of which were not even allowed to leave factory grounds. And with their help, Jacob and Evie liberated London. At the moment at least". "Let me guess, Templars took it over again"? Annabeth guessed. "Yeah, only after World War I, so Jacob and Evie's work was undone. But we're hoping to take back London, and the rest of the World". "That's... Astonishing" Annabeth said.
"And you suspect that there is a clue to the bow"?
"We would bet our lives on it. There was strong Templar activity there anyways for a couple of months. Shaun and Rebecca were already there to dig up information about a different Piece of Eden-". "Whoa, Shaun and Rebecca? They're in London"? Percy exclaimed. I nodded, "Bishop sent them there a few days ago. They're laying low now, but they're gonna get some assistance soon from other Assassins".
"Who's Shaun and Rebecca"? Frank asked. "Well, Shaun's a sort of IT guy. He searches for useful information when it come to historical events, figures, places, monuments, even myths, and sends the information to other Assassin's in case they need help. Rebecca is Tech Specialist. She helps to manage the servers and the Animus in case they need a system rebooting or if there's an error. In all honesty, I think the two have a little relationship going on" I finished, with a smirk on my face to the thought of Rebecca and Shaun doing a 'Lady and the Tramp'. "Hah, so you think your friend Shaun has something useful"? Leo questioned. "That'd be our guess".
"Good, now we can tell more people that gods exist" Jason said, Piper giving him a nudge.
"Calm down Jason, they're good people. They won't tell anyone, and they're not really kind of people who kill or fight" Percy spoke, "besides, nobody would ever trust Shaun with a hidden blade, not the taser kind". He's got that right. Now at the moment, I was starting to gain a sudden headache, and I felt my ears begin to finally pop at the high altitude, meaning I did not feel good. Setting my goblet down, I asked "hey, do you mind if I go and sleep on the couch? I'm not feeling good, and I barely got enough sleep last night". "We don't mind. Should we wake you up when we get there"? Getting, up from my seat, I replied "yeah, thanks". Pushing in the chair, I walked out of the dining room, and entered the relaxation room, which Percy and them showed us. I nearly went to grab a spare blanket off the shelf, until I noticed Percy enter the room at the corner of my eye. He walked in and said "hey Emily? Are you okay"? I gave a warm smile. "Yeah, I'll probably feel better when we la-".
"No no, not like that. I mean, with me and Annabeth"? Even past the warming smile, I could probably sense he could see the worry in my eyes. Sighing, I responded "I'm... I'm sorry that I got between you and her. I didn't know. If you want me to stay out of your way, I'll-". "Hey, come on" he said, placing his gentle hand on my chin to see my eyes, "you know you don't have to". And he gave a firm kiss against my own. "I love Annabeth. But, I also love you too, and I don't want to break any hearts. Not yours, not Annabeth's, nobody's". His welcoming, calm words helped to make me feel better. "Thank you. But... What should we do"?
"Just don't tell her. We can keep our relationship a secret. How does that sound"? Smiling, I took a second to think about it, and I answered "okay". And we embraced each other with another kiss, with his hand gently holding the back of my neck, and my arms around his. Luckily the door was closed as he came in. Pulling back from the kiss, we let each other go, and I grabbed a blanket. "Okay, get some rest. We'll be there in about three or four hours. I'll wake you". "Thank you...". He gave a final nod with a smile, and exited the room, closing the door behind him. Lying down on the couch, with a surprisingly comfy throw-pillow, I covered myself with the blanket, and as the pillow's comfort began to sooth me to sleep, then came dreams.
*Dream*
I open my eyes to be found in the middle of a black void, nothing around me, although I felt myself standing on a floor. Nothing surrounded me, until I saw a giant golden light, and a figure in front of it, but was not facing me, but the light instead. The golden light seemed to be projected by... A rainbow. I began to approach the figure, to see who it was, only to know that it was covered with a black cloak, with a hood covering their head. Walking closer, the figure spoke; "So, what shall we do"? Having my hand close to my belt, where my sword was sheathed. Gripping my sword's handle, in case a fight would begin with me and the person, I nearly opened my mouth to reply, only to find that it was not speaking to me. But someone else. "Once you arrive to London, with the 'Welcoming Party', we will prepare a full ambush on the crew and the other Assassins in London". The voice was very weary, like an old, wheezy old man, but was at a younger tone, and he coughed as he finished speaking. But wait, was he talking about... Oh no, Shaun and Rebecca. "And are you sure the Assassins in London are close to finding the Piece of Eden"?
"We are sure. But we believe that we are very much closer to the Shroud than those pessimists".
"Well once you capture them, what shall we do with them. Kill them"?
The unknown voice made a wheezy laugh, then coughed. "No, first I want to capture them, torture them, and make them give up the location of their hideouts, the locations of their allies, and of course, the OTHER Pieces of Eden. Once that's done, I would do as Ms. Lucy Thorn once said. 'I will find it without their help, and then, I will strangle them with it". The figure and the voice began to give a low, maniacal laugh. Their laughter, talking about killing the Assassins, my family, and friends, all made me want to go and kill them both. Only thing was, as I tried to move, I only could find that I literally could not move a muscle. My hand was still gripped around my sword, but I could not move at all, much less speak.
"And what of the 'Welcoming Party'"?
"Much as the same with the Assassins. Only, we will give them a far more painful torture, then kill them for what they did to me. They will be in no use of the search for the Pieces of Eden. I will make them pay, the Romans, the Greeks, and of course, the gods. They will bend to our feet". The figure chuckled a bit. "As you wish, Grand Master".
"You better go now" the 'Grand Master' spoke, "before you find anyone eavesdropping on you or sees you".
"Of course". The figure placed their right hand over their chest, the sign of the Templars.
"May the Father of Understanding guide you" the voice spoke.
"May the Father of Understanding guide us" the figure responded, placing their hand down, and using the other one to swipe across the rainbow. And just like that, the golden light faded away, and so did the voice and figure. Who was that? And who was that figure speaking to him? I knew it was a Templar but... Who? I was once again surrounded by a black void. Nothing, and nobody around me at all. Until I heard a voice whisper "Emily. Emily"!
I blinked my eyes, to find I was no longer in my dream, but back on the couch, the blanket still covering me, and Percy was looking over me as he stood above me. "Hey Emily"? "Hm"? I replied, rubbing my eyes. "We're here. We finally made it". Finishing rubbing my eyes, I asked "oh really? How long was I asleep"? "Three and a half hours. I tried waking you a few times. Come on, let's go out and see the view". I threw the blanket over me, and fixed my hair so it didn't look like a bird's nest. Following Percy topside, I looked over the railing of the ship, as me, Percy, Annabeth, and the rest of the crew looked down, as we took in the view of the city; The Thames, Big Ben, The Ferris Wheel, and so much more of this powerful city.
The big and beautiful, London, England... We made it.
