Leo POV:
I couldn't believe it the split second I encountered it's bronze shining hull, it's tall rising masts, the large mortar cannons in the center of the deck of the ship, and the gleaming bronze masthead and the glowing ruby red eyes of my old metallic friend Festus. I felt my heart rise, beating faster as a I felt a flame literally rise in my heart as I saw the Argo II.
"No...way..."! I muttered to myself quietly. "HOLY FRICKING OLYMPUS!!! It can't be! Festus?!?! Is that really you"?! Festus started to squeak and whirl the gears in a sign of morse code, saying of course it's me, I missed you. "Yeah, I'm glad to see you too boy. But how did rebuild the ship dad? It was badly damaged when we defeated Gaea" I asked my dad, as he crossed his arms, his face was expressive as he smirked at the work of the Argo II. "Fixed him up for you while you were gone with Calypso" my dad said. "With Festus as your masthead once again. And it's actually an Argo 2.2, cause I fixed up some broken items on it, so you don't have to worry about seeing Dwarfs faces in the dining hall again. And the front of the ship opens up for Festus to be freed. Consider this your sixteenth belated birthday present". Belated birthday present? This is more like getting a new car for graduating high school, but heck, I wasn't complaining at all. I wanted to spend the whole day looking around the Argo 2.2, 'cause I can't help but to admit I missed my baby. I ran up to the gangplank as the seven passengers looked up at me, as I kept my balance from the mast ropes, and I smiled brightly as I said "ladies and gentlemen... Welcome back aboard the Argo 2.2". Everyone couldn't help but smile and giggle to see me happy again like this. Piper, Jason, Frank, and Hazel climbed aboard carrying their luggage, but Thalia just stared at the ship and I was able to hear her mutter in her own breath "we're flying on that"? "well If you're gonna feel air sick during the way... Make sure you vommit on any monsters flying around" Percy had replied to her. I climbed up the stairway up towards the controls of the Argo 2.2 and stood at the controls. They were the same of the first one, a television with a air radar, and controls was the Wii controller, but I just hoped the command controls were still the same as last time. Thalia walked onboard, but Percy and Annabeth were talking to each other one last time, before carrying their luggages on board. I picked the Wii controller up, and I flicked the remote up, causing the gangplank to retract and the one-hundred oars have opened up from the sides of the ship. Twirling the remote around, The pars have starting whirring, and moving in a motion from up to down as they sped up faster with every twirl I made from the remote. And the sails have opened up from the mast and blew in the wind, as I felt like the ship was getting lighter, as it started lifting up in the air, and the Argo was on it's way.
Everyone looked around, and dumbfounded to see the Argo II again, but Thalia sat on a stack of crates besides the mast, looking like she wanted to hurl. Oh what good memories we had, killing Giants, fighting Gaea, and saving the earth FROM the earth. I pressed the A and B buttons on the Wii controller and the ship's wheel came up. Setting the controller down, I grabbed the wheel, turning to the left, and said "crew members, let's find us a bow". The Argo set sail into the high clouds, until New York City started to look like a little black dot, the Statue of Liberty looking like a speck of growing grass until it was out of our sights. The seven walked down into lower deck, probably checking their cabin rooms. Heck, why not, I've missed my baby for so long I want to see my room once more (more likely it's my storage room). So I pressed the start button on the Wii controller, setting the auto-pilot on and the wheel starting moving itself. I walked down into the lower deck, seeing the old interior, which looked very refurnished by a carpenter, who I guess got a really BIG cheque for it. But either than that, I walked around, checking the dining room, looking brighter and the holographic images showed Camp Half-Blood on the left wall, and Camp Jupiter on the right, both of them in reconstruction, one of them because of me. The others were in their old rooms, and Thalia was vacant in Coach Hedge's old room, and I decided to check into my old room. I walked in, looking around, and it looked almost exactly the way I've left it. Mechanical parts were left on my newly made bed, which smelt like motor oil, steam engines, and engine fluid, the perfect smell for any Hephaestus kid. The Archimedes Sphere was left on my work desk, badly damaged, but nothing like a Hephaestus prodigy to fix it (and duct tape, the greatest repair tool of all time). My old tool belt was left hanging on my door, and I was glad to see it. But what made my heart sink was seeing the sketch of Calypso that Hazel had drawn me. The corners of the papers was burnt, and was crumpled, but I could still see Calypso's almond shaped brown eyes and her flowing auburn hair, and beautiful face looking at me. And I remembered the promise I made on the River Styx I made for her before leaving, "promise me that you'll return. No more quests, and no more trouble" she had said to me. "I swear in the River Styx I'll come home to you, no more quests, and no more problems". And after that we kissed goodbye. I wished I could be certain, but sometimes they can't always be kept, but I didn't want to think of that, and just try to make a few jokes to keep my hopes up.
"Hey Leo" I heard someone say. I turned to see Piper standing by the doorway. "Hey there Beauty Queen, glad to see one of my friends again. How are you doing"? I replied.
"I'm doing fine, especially with Jason in New Rome. How're you and Calypso"?
"We're doing okay too. We finally opened up our repair shop in Dallas, and we might plan on starting a family one day".
"That's great Leo. I'm glad you found love, and I hope you have a great family. But all eight of us should meet in the dining hall later. Glad to see you again".
"Yeah, I'll meet you there tonight" I last said as Piper walked out. And then I decided to unpack my bags, trying to take the mechanical parts out of most of my drawers. Once done, I head back to the main deck, or other words; the 'Poopdeck'. And I regained the control of the Argo 2.2.
*five hours later*
Hours have passed, and the sun had been starting to set over the horizon. Normal people would be bored while being a captain of a regular ship, but while Captain Leo, Supreme Commander of the Argo II, the word 'boredom' doesn't exist. But I felt tired from not getting enough sleep the other night, and now we were now sailing over the Mississippi. And the landscape was very beautiful, sometimes I'd spot a couple of Party Ponies trampling down the forest, a couple of tree nymphs walking around, and a few flying wind spirits, waving as they flew by, making me wonder how Coach Hedge and Mellie are doing with their family. The Coach could be a bit furious like John Cena during wrestling, but at least he had a heart to raise a family of his own. I had yawned a few times, as I checked my watch and saw the time 5:03. Practically time to go have a meal with the crew. I looked on the GPS to find a place to land, and I found a perfect spot next to the lake, and to try not to disturb any river nymphs. A few minutes later and the Argo 2.2 had set down and the oars retracted. I left the controls and walked down to join the rest of the crew as they all ate the dining hall. Percy and Annabeth sat together, as well as Jason and Piper, and Hazel and Frank. Thalia sat next to her brother, and ate in silence, but I think she felt happy sitting next to Jason, but now I can even remember when I first had a crush on her when I met her. There was a seat next to Frank, but now seeing the guy who he is, from looking like a Panda on steroids, to a guy who looks like a full assault soldier ready to fight, who has just been promoted to Praetor. But at least he's a good guy, so I sat next to him. "Glad to see you could make it flame-boy" Percy said, as he drank the blue liquid from his goblet (what is it with Percy and the colour blue?) , and set it down, "yeah nice to see you too Aqua Man". Percy smirked as he took a bite out of his slice of pepperoni pizza. I focused on my plate, which now work like the enchanted goblets, and suddenly... *poof!* two tofu tacos stuffed with spicy hamburger, salsa, lettuce, and chilly, made into Elysium. I took A bite out of one, and swallowed before beginning to speak out. "Now that we're all here, let's all give a warm welcome".
"To who"? Piper asked.
"To Thalia for her first time on the Argo, and to all of us for coming back together as the 'Leo Force Seven'" I joked. Everyone couldn't help but laugh at that joke, except for Thalia who looked annoyed.
"But either than that we should stay focused, no time for jokes" Thalia said, cutting off the laughter from everyone. "Come on Thals, can't a hunter take a joke from a guy for once" Percy said.
"Yeah, I can. But... Like I said, we should stay focused...". Thalia said it like as if she'd seen a ghost. And Jason looked concerned for her.
"Sis, what's wrong"? Thalia looked at her brother, and said "nothing, It's just..." She sighed, and continued, "actually... I had a nightmare last night before I came to Olympus. It was really strange. I heard voices, saw visions, and had strange thoughts for the rest of the night. Nothing concerning monster or whatnot". "What was it" Annabeth asked. She exhaled deeply, and said "I saw visions of people dying, blood being spilt on the ground, enemies against enemies in war, corrupt people and criminals. But what really stood out was a voice, saying something like a threat...". "What did the voice say" Hazel asked. "If I want to live, I live. If I want to take, I take. If I want you to die, you die. And that's when I saw the visions. It was really scary, beyond anything that even a brave Hunter would be scared of". I looked at how Jason's sister was scared of it. "Well... It sounds like that's monster's voice saying tha-". "I didn't say it was a monster's voice! It sounded mortal, like a deep, man's voice. With a sort of old accent, Italian maybe around a renaissance age. I just don't know, it was scary". And Frank spoke into the conversation; "Well, was there anything else you saw in the visions"? Thalia rubbed her eyes, probably from exhaustion or pressure being put on her. "Well, just before I woke up... I saw something I recognized in history class in seventh grade. I saw a red cross, with points at the corners of the tips. And I knew it was this group of knights called the Templars". "Templars"?! Annabeth asked. "The ones organized by the church? The ones founded from the temple of Solomon? And the ones who stole gold and riches from the people"? Thalia nodded.
"But what do a whole bunch of dead Knights have to do with this quest"? I asked. "I don't know. But don't mistaken them for just being 'Knights'. They even existed far longer than that" Annabeth replied,
"they were cast out from the church by King Phillip when Jaques de Molay was burnt alive at the stake in June, 1307 in France. But there were rumours or conspiracies that they sailed away from France and Jerusalem and moved to Italy, hiding away from civilization, such as Pope Alexander the sixth, Cesare Borgia, and a whole bunch of countless names in the history books". "Thanks for the history lesson Ms. Chase, but that still doesn't answer my question" I said. She face-palmed herself, and exclaimed "sometimes, I swear I'll mistaken you for Seaweed Brain one day". I smirked. "ANYWAYS... What do the Templars have to do with this quest involving Assassins? And why did Thalia see all of this"? None of said a thing, or moved a muscle. "We don't know. I don't know if it'll work again, but maybe Katoptris can forsee it" Piper said as she took her charm box, and grabbed Katoptris, and looked into it. I saw nothing except the light reflecting onto Piper's face. Once the light was done reflecting off her face, I felt like she saw something bad, as her eyes bulged from shock. She sheathed Katoptris and Jason asked, "well, what did you see"? Piper shook her head out of shock, and said. "Oh... Um... It may seem strange to explain, but it is all too much to explain. It's getting late guys, and we're gonna have a long day tomorrow". We all looked around, and we all probably thought 'what did she see'? And Annabeth asked "so while we sleep, who's gonna watch the main deck tonight? And who's gonna fly"? Thalia raised her hand, "I'll keep watch. Nothing's gonna escape my sight tonight". Wow, Hunter in action. And I raised my hand as well, saying "I'll fly. I know the controls and radar good enough". "Any objections"? Annabeth asked, and nobody raised a finger. This so probably how the Olympians feel like at every meeting. Glad I'm not one of them. "Good, we'll send you guys back down to sleep, and change shifts every two hours". Everyone nodded in agreement, making me remember how good a leader Annabeth was the last time. "Good, let's finish eating and we'll head to bed". And we went back to eating. Glad to see the rules around here haven't changed in Leo Town.
