Xavier??

As soon as the elevator got to the ground floor, i stepped out and started walking away not waiting for that overbearing CEO. I stood in front of the company waiting for a cab to pass by but it seems all the cabs had vanished from this particular area, I mean it's only 10pm not midnight. I grabbed my phone and tried booking an Uber but before I could tap on the Uber app my phone died, today I can finally confirm that the universe was against me. Just then a Maybach pulled right in front of me and the car windows rolled down to reveal mr. CEO who had ditched the coat and tie and had unbuttoned his shirt a bit, was this man trying to seduce me.
"Do you want me to pull you in this time as well" he said with a smirk.
I knew he was not going to take no for an answer, so I immediately rounded the car and got in, putting on my seatbelt as if I was expecting an accident. What I heard next was a booming laugh coming from the CEO.
"Kehlani we're not going to crash so relax okay " he said.
He shook his head for a while and started the car engine.
"Where do you live?" He asked as he focused on the road.
I mumbled my address and continued staring outside.
"Have you eaten anything today?" He asked again.
I shook my head briefly, then he turned to look at me as if he wanted to scold me but instead he pulled up at one of the most luxurious restaurants and told me to follow him. I did as he said, thinking he was just meeting a friend then we could continue with over journey because there was no way in hell we were going to eat at this place, I even heard reservations had been booked for months. The manager of the restaurant approached as quite shortly as if he was waiting for us.
"Good evening Mr.Mckenzie we're so....."
"Table for two now" Mr. McKenzie commanded cutting the manager short.
I mean how rude could this guy get. "yes sir" the manager said and left in a hurry. We were soon ushered by a waiter to our seats.
"I didn't tell you I wanted to eat" I said calmly.
" Pick the goddamn menu Kehlani" he said as he stared into my soul.
I did as he said, I started going through the list of dishes, I finally made my choice and yes he said he wanted the same thing. When the waiter left we continued to sit in silence waiting for our food until it arrived. I didn't bother talking to him as I digged in, and when I took my first bite, I almost f*cking moaned until I saw piercing green eyes staring into my soul and then I swallowed the moan down my throat.
"This is delicious" I said, trying to make conversation because I was getting bored of the silence and my phone couldn't keep me company.
"It is".
"Do you frequent this restaurant often" I asked
"Why do you ask?" He said as he continued to eat his food.
" It's just the way you commanded the manager....."
"Commanded" he said with a small laugh
"Yes you did and I thought it was kinda rude" I plainly stated.
"I'll keep that in mind sweetheart"
"You still didn't answer my question"
"I'll answer if only you call me by my first name when we are out doing anything business related"
What makes this guy think we were ever going to do anything that was not business related. I thought.
"Well then Kai, do you frequent this restaurant often" I said once again.
And I visibly saw how his hand clenched against his fork and knife and how his jaw ticked with some sort of irritation, and I thought he said he wanted us to be on first name bases. He actually seemed mad. But his expression changed after a few seconds and went back to the calm, composed boss I knew.
"Well yes I do" he said quite stiffly and I decided to just keep quiet through the rest of the meal before I strike a nerve.
The meal went on smoothly, it was the very best I'd ever had and I'd be sure to brag this to china, she must be worried right now, oh my god, I should have phoned her when I left the office. Kai and I got into the car and we drove off. He seemed to be radiating an aura of annoyance so I didn't bother speaking, when we finally got to my apartment I spoke.
"Thank you Mr. McKenzie for the dinner and the ride I really appreciate it" I said as i grabbed my bag, ready to leave. As soon as i opened the car door Mr. McKenzie held unto my hand, we both stared at our interlocked hands for a few minutes before he finally spoke
"Take care" he said. And honestly I was a bit disappointed that's all he said, I was kinda expecting more.
"You too" I replied firmly.
He had parked at the other side of the road, so I had to cross it before I got into my apartment. As I was crossing the road I was checking inside my handbag if I had taken everything not noticing that a car was fast approaching, the next thing I heard was a male voice scream my name and I turned around only to see Kai running towards me, it felt as if everything was in slow motion, because just then blurry images started to form in my head and they were so mixed up and so fast moving I couldn't pinpoint a thing, but I clearly heard a voice scream my name the same way Kai did and in those blurry images someone who looked like me murmured Xavier and everything stopped. what I felt next was a large hand grabbing me and pulling me out of the way.
" Kehlani are you out of your mind?" He said concern clearly etched on his face.
"Xavier" I whispered and I saw his green orbs fill with shock as I passed out in his arms.
