*Kehlani's POV*

I came back home, feeling super exhausted, if you didn't know yet, yes I'm not a runner nor a jogger, if it wasn't for my job as an assistant I'm not sure I would even be a walker.....if that is the right word to use. I laughed at my own stupid joke as I made my way to the couch, a few minutes later china plopped down beside me.
"So...how did it go?" She asked with an amused expression.
"She thought I was f*cking crazy" I almost yelled at her.
This idea was super dumb, I can't believe I'd even think I was reincarnated.
"Why what happened?" She asked with concern.
"I told her about the book and everything else duhhh" I said.
"I cannot believe you can be this stupid Lani...... where's the assistant of one of the most richest men in the world" she asked looking dumbfounded.
"That's a bit harsh you know" I said, feeling slightly hurt.
"You were supposed to act like, you f*cking remembered everything, I'm very sure you're the only reincarnated person that doesn't remember her past, so act like you do and f*cking gauge their reactions." China said as if she was super tired of dealing with a dumbass child.
"You should have stated that perfectly before you brought up the plan of meeting grace" I replied wanting to save myself from embarrassment.
"Well you already blew up that chance, so you have to deal with the big guns now, you need to act like you remember everything when you meet Xavier, he's your last shot and if all this turns out to be a sham then at least you would know that it's all misunderstood, other than dying with what ifs" china reprimanded me.
She was kinda right, if I really wanted to know what all this was about, I had to put in some acting skills.
"Can you summarize the whole story for me?" I asked.
"I gladly would" china replied with a wide grin.
Half way through the story, the doorbell rang and china decided to get it. She came back with some files in hand.
"Uhh.....Claire said to deliver this to you and it needs the ceo's signature tomorrow, so you gotta go through them and make sure everything is alright and she's sorry she can't come and check up on you but there's a lot of work at the office and she needs to rush back" china ranted off and she sat down.
I'm guessing the CEO also didn't come to work today after I had asked for a sick leave. I mean I couldn't bare seeing his face after what happened between us and for some reason I felt kinda bad to have lied because now most of the work will be on Claire, poor girl. China continued with the story until my phone pinged with a message cutting her off once again. I checked my phone only to realize it was an email for the CEO himself.

I was informed Claire had dropped off some documents at your house but I need them urgently. They should be delivered to my house by 7:00pm.

PS: Don't f*ck this up like you did with the others yesterday.

Kai McKenzie.

No hi, no hello, no please, f*cking arrogant, no how are you doing. Gosh this man was insufferable. I broke out from my train of thoughts when china spoke up.
"Why what's wrong?" She asked.
"Kai or Xavier or whatever his name is wants me to deliver the documents to his house by 7:00pm." I replied with a huff.
"I think the universe is on our side, that's exactly the excuse we need, get an alone time with Xavier whiles he's in his home and act like you remember everything, lemme go over the important details once again " china said as she fed me with as much information as she could recall.
It was basically 6:45 when I left my home to Xavier's. I was trying to go over what china said as I walked into his freaking, gorgeous, highly expensive mansion, well, I expected his home to be grand after he sent his  location but this was way beyond what I thought. The butler ushered me into the sitting room as he went upstairs to inform "his boss". As I waited downstairs I saw a dark haired girl coming down the stairs and immediately recognized it to be grace.
"Kehlani, we meet again.....but this time in my home, are you sure you're not interested in me?" She said with a smirk.
Are all the McKenzie siblings this cocky, I muttered under my breath.
"Oh grace, it's wonderful to see you again, I was just delivering some documents to Mr. McKenzie." I replied.
Before grace could continue we heard footsteps coming down the stairs and we both looked up to an oh so good looking Xavier coming down the stairs in a f*cking TANK TOP, that should be f*cking illegal, that man was a walking distraction even in a suit and now he's in a tank top, showcasing all those muscles and tattoos, the hell was I doing, I can't be admiring this man, he's my boss.
"The same boss you were cumming all over his face" an inner voice said to me.
"Shut up inner voice" I might have said it too loud, because grace turned to look at me with a raised eyebrow.
When he finally got down the stairs, he side hugged his sister as his eyes turned to look at me, mischief clearly swirling in those green pools.
"Thank you Kehlani, for coming on short notice, I was informed you took a sick leave today, are you feeling any better " he asked, clearly amused.
"Well I am, thank you for asking, here are the documents sir, I should be on my way" I said as I stretched out my hand.
"Oh but Kehlani, we were just about to have dinner, you should join us" grace said with a smile.
"Uh...I don't think....." I tried to explain but was immediately cut off.
"No buts, I insist" grace said. Without waiting for me to even reply she dragged my hand and walked away with me as Xavier or Kai tailed behind us to one of the most beautiful dinning rooms I'd seen in my life. F*ck castles, this was magnificent.
