Kehlani's POV
A few hours after I had gotten home, ordered some fast food and ice cream and slouched on the couch, china walked in looking like she had been hit by a tornado. She slumped into the couch as well, breathing heavily.
"You're home early" she said breathlessly.
"Mmm" I responded.
"How was your day?" I asked, as I switched through channels.
"Well they was a huge accident today, had to go through like 38 emergency cases, too much blood had me nauseous I guess.....being a theater nurse sucks" she finished with a huff.
"Well it sure as hell cannot be compared to being the assistant of an overbearing CEO who happens to own the largest luxury company in the world" I said, annoyance clearly etched in my tone.
"Why what happened?" China asked as she shifted her head to look at me.
"Remember the important meeting I told you I had today". China replied by nodding her head.
"For some weird reason the documents got missing and was replaced with blank sheets" I said with a sigh.
"Oh my god! I hope you didn't get fired because of this" china said, looking very concerned.
"No I didn't thankfully but the CEO got really angry"
"So what did he do?" China said as she took a glass of water from the table and started drinking.
"He fingered me and told me to take the day off" I said as I pursed my lips.
China choked on the water she was drinking and started coughing harshly.
"He did what!!!, Does that even serve as a punishment?" China asked with wide eyes.
I simply groaned and closed my eyes.
China started stroking my hair softly and said "tell me how did it feel".
There were moments where china acted like a f*cking child, but when she was serious, she was serious and this is one of the moments where she genuinely wants to know about how I feel.
"I don't know, it felt wrong, but then it also felt right and I'm just so super confused because we weren't supposed to do that, but when he looks at me and when he touches me......I feel....loved".
I finally ended with a sigh.
"And the craziest part is that when he was about to make me cum he told me.....wait let me rephrase this.....so I was moaning his name, Kai, instead, he told me that , and I quote it's "Xavier for me"."
"That's weird why would he say that" china said, confusion clearly etched on her face.
"But what's his actual name?"
"Kai McKenzie" I replied.
"Wait I've heard of this name before..... that's the exact name of the character in the book I was reading." China said.
I looked clearly confused so she continued.
"The main character in the book had a twin brother named Kai McKenzie and the main character himself was called Xavier McKenzie."
"Gosh the McKenzie's are rich and freaking gorgeous someone must have made a fanfic". I replied.
"Look this might sound crazy but I need you to describe Kai McKenzie right now." China said as she pulled out her phone.
"He's hot, has piercing green eyes, tousled black hair, Greek god face, killer body, you know the good stuff." Immediately after I said those words I heard a piercing ring inside my head and I could see blur images of someone who looked like me typing these same exact words I said then it stopped.
"Are you okay?" China asked, looking very concerned.
"I'm fine, it's just those migraines, I have to follow you to the hospital one of these days to go check it out" I said.
"Yeah sure" china simply stated.
Then all of a sudden, she stopped and looked at me then back at her screen,she did these same movements for a few times before I finally got fed up and asked.
"What is it china?"
"Are you sure you haven't read this book before?" She asked, suspicion lacing her voices.
"I can swear on my grave that I haven't read a book since I started working, you know that I don't like reading" I stated as a matter of fact.
"Then how do you explain the fact that you said the exact some words in this book?" China said as she turned the phone to my view.
You've got to be f*cking kidding me. I read the words,over and over again until it finally registered in my head, that's so freaking impossible.
"I swear on my life I've never read this book, it might just be a coincidence."
"Coincidence my foot, how come I never noticed that the girl Xavier McKenzie was willing to die for was also called Kehlani f*cking smith.
I felt dread pull in the pit of my stomach like sharp knives ready to cut through me and bare me whole.
"When was this book written?" I asked my mind still wandering for answers.
"Like ten years ago" china stated.
"Did Wattpad even exist 10 years ago?"
"Girl that's not the main point, my point is what if you and everyone else in this book have been reincarnated?"
"Girl are you really trying to tell me you believe in reincarnation?" I said trying to dodge the fact that what she was saying actually made sense.
"You know for starters, the author of this book wrote that this is a true life story and she also did say that she never liked books until she met Xavier McKenzie" china said, stating all the facts so clearly as if trying to desperately make me believe that I was indeed reincarnated.
Before I could ask her a question, she continued.
"Girl I think you wrote this book in your past life" china said as she stared into my eyes.
"You did say that the lovers in this book died due to an accident plotted by Xavier's twin brother right, so how do you expect the dead person to have written that part too and describe the accident as well" I said as I tried to deny her claims as good as I can.
"Well you're right....but I never said that that part was written by Kehlani herself, the accident part was written by a Grace McKenzie......and I'm sure you know her since you work for her brother " china said as she grabbed a tub of ice cream and started eating.
I didn't know Grace McKenzie personally but I did know that, Kai or Xavier or whatever his name is does have a sister called Grace, could whatever china is saying be true?, Oh my god! I said silently as I tried to process everything.
