Few days have passed and everything has been comfortable, almost to the point where it's too comfortable.
I was awaiting for Kelly's little attempt at getting me back, but he's been quieter and a little more distant than usual. The more quiet and distant he had been becoming, the more louder and closer Bryshere was becoming. There's no complaints my way since he's such a sweet guy, and is always looking out for me. Like literally.
Although, I do kind of miss Kelly, and I honestly wanted to know what his deal was. His deal had to be me because Khayman and Brys said he's totally normal out of school but in school, he's a little Debby Downer. No one likes those.
So, at lunch time I placed my seat beside him since he somehow always got down here before everyone else with his lunch already on the table.
"Hey." I smile.
He nods his head, "What's up, Aurora?"
I shake my head, "Nothing at all. Just came to see what was up with you.?"
"Just eating, you know. I'm all good. Just been tired lately."
"Is that why you've been quiet, distant, and cold hearted?" I ask.
He looks at me, "Cold hearted? When was I ever that?"
I furrow my eyebrows, "Tuesday when Hayley set me up, and you wouldn't do anything about it."
He shrugs, "It wasn't cold hearted, I just didn't understand what you wanted me to say to her. I told her off once, what's doing it twice going to do? You know what I'm saying? You know regardless I got your back, and its just unfortunate that it happened to you. It won't happen again, I promise."
I smile. There's the Kelly that I liked. "Alright. Just making sure I didn't lose my friend."
He gives me a face, "You won't ever lose me. You're apart of our crew now.."
I wrap my arm, under his large biceps, and lay my head on his shoulder, "Aww, Kelly. You're being so nice.."
He chuckles, "I'm feeling kind today."
"I totally understand." I comment. "So question, why haven't you been trying to get me back yet? Are you waiting for me?"
"Because, I've been busy."
"Busy with what? Basketball?"
He shakes his head, "No."
I lift my head up from his shoulder, "Then what?"
He stays quiet for a second, and hesitates on trying to speak. I raise an eyebrow just waiting for him to spit out what he needed to say, being a patient person about it.
"Aurora, I have to te-"
"Rory!" A voice interrupted, Kelly's.
I turn around and see Bryshere approaching me with a container. My eyes grow wide.
"Brys, you really asked your mom to bake strawberry cheesecake?" I ask.
