TITLE : (4.5/5)

The title is quite nice and eye-catching. I love the simplicity and straightforwardness of the title. It is also intriguing enough that readers will want to discover how the title relates to the plot, and why the author chose it.

BLURB : (4/5)

The blurb feels professionally done. It feels like I'm reading the back of a published book. However, I also think it's a bit too long and exposes the plot a little too much. Nonetheless, the blurb did not deter me from reading further, instead it made me want to read more. Do note that this might not be the case for other readers.

BEGINNING : (5/5)

The author did a really good job in crafting the first chapter. The introduction of the major and minor characters were all on point - despite the POV being in the first person. The author has an understanding of the importance of a good first chapter - and they nailed it.

GRAMMAR : (13.5/15)

There were a few small mistakes littered here and there. However, it doesn't impact the story in any way. The author has a good grasp of the language and grammar, which is a good thing since the story has a lot of potential and is, so far, wonderfully written.

WRITING STYLE : (9.5/10)

The author really knows how to command a story. The consistency of POV, the simplicity that belies a complex structure of interwoven words and plot, tension-filled and emotionally driven dialogues, were all present that it made reading worthwhile.

PLOT : (19/20)

At first, the plot seemed like it would be one of those YA/Teen fiction revenge plots where the girl ends up either forgiving the person she set out to seek revenge upon or get a happy ending and just move on. Or the usual I hate the populars for some shallow reason. This story goes deeper and explores complex relationship dynamics while also keeping things mysterious. It's a very complex plot that makes a reader crave for more information that the author purposefully withholds.
