Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.

A/N: By the way, the picture is of what Akira looks like, except that she's an adult and a little bit bigger. And yes, I modeled her after my dog. My dogs name is even Akira.

Tai's POV

I look at the incoming ground and close my eyes before I fell in a big heap on the ground. My wings were surrounding me so that I would be a little bit more protected. I got up to see Akira smirking at me. I just glare at her and continue to train. Flying is a lot harder than it looks. You have to make the wind hit your wings just right. This might be easy for animals that were born with wings and instincts on how to use them but not for a random girl who grew wings. I can't count how many times I've fallen back to the ground. I've gotten a bit better though. I just feel unbalanced.

I spread my wings out and flap them to propel myself into the air. I can feel the air hitting my face as my wings flap furiously. I still feel unbalanced though... As if I'm missing something... I feel myself tumble a little to my left and that of course throws me off completely and I fall to the ground. That's it! I need something to help me be steady so that when I tumble a little, I can regain my balance. What animals need great balance? There's one animal that I know for sure needs balance. That's the Jesus lizard. It's long tail helps it balance as it runs across the water. Without its tail it would just fall in.

That means that I might need a tail... It makes sense but what kind of tail should I have? I can't have it too heavy and I need it to have a surface that would catch the wind easily. A reptilian tail is definitely out.  I'm thinking something that's not too big either. It can't restrict my movement. Man, it's a good thing that tails are easy to morph. I would be screwed if they weren't.

For the design, since it should be convenient, it should be a thin tail that can split into two with stretched skin connecting each tail half. It should be a plain black cat-like tail that can split in two.

Akira must have seen my thinking face so she barked at me. "Hey, what are you thinking about?"

"I'm thinking of adding a tail." I replied to her. I don't need to bark at her for her to understand me, it just lets me be more secretive.

"You didn't think of that before?" She asked me. I ignored her, concentrating on creating my tail. It (of course) should connect to my tailbone or if you want to get technical, my coccyx. I basically just elongate my coccyx into a tail. This is why they are so easy to create. Humans already have tailbones, you just need to add the tail. However, it's harder now because I have to split the bones and make them very flexible. I also have to have enough skin in the middle for it to be able to catch the air but not too much so that it can hide in the middle of my split tail. When the whole tail is closed up, it just looks like a cat tail. (Is that confusing? Just imagine it as one of those fans that can open and close.)

After the tail is created I flex it around to make sure it works fine. It has to be flexible enough to wrap around my stomach so that it won't get in the way if I need to fight. I wrap it around my stomach, unravel it and split it in two as far as it can go. The skin stretches out, connecting the two tail parts.

Okay, this is the real test. Let's try to fly with it. I make sure that my wings and tail are spread out before taking flight. As I'm in the air, I immediately feel more steady. I tilt a little to the side but I shift my tail a little and it steadies myself. I continue to flap my wings, hoping to get higher into the air. My wings take me higher into the air and I decide to fly forwards more. I find that flying horizontal is much easier than flying vertical, as my wings take me across the sky. This is much easier than before. I start to flap my wings less frequently so that I can just glide across the sky without as much effort.

As I glide across the skies I look down at the trees passing by at an alarming rate. I then look to the horizon where the sun is just setting. Wow, time really flies when your learning how to fly. Akira and I should probably head back now. Akira already finished her chakra control training and can now easily walk on water for a long period of time.

I glide down towards the ground. As I get closer, I pull my wings up a little bit so that there is more resistance in air which causes me to slow down as I land carefully on the ground. I'm glad I read about how birds land before learning how to fly. That could have hurt.

I make my wings disappear as I put my sweatshirt and pants on. I think I should keep my tail out though. I have a good idea for it but that's for my next training session. I walk over to Akira to see that she had already dried herself off.

"Okay Akira, we should go back." I say as I pick her up and pet her head. It's at times like these that I'm glad that she's small. Akira barks in agreement and licks my face.

"So did you fulfill your training?" She barks at me questioningly. I simply nod my head at her as I walk back to Kakashi's house with her in my arms.

-At hokage tower, Hokage's POV-

I sat in front of my crystal ball as I watched her train. He was greatly surprised when he found out she was a girl. Though, It was clear as day when she took her sweater off. Her abilities surprise me and I have never heard of an Ookami clan. I can check the records but I'm pretty sure there is no clan with that name. She is a suspicious person but as much as I'd like to question her, Kakashi was the one that had somehow summoned her here against her will. We don't really have any right to question her. I had already told Kakashi to spy on her just to make sure she doesn't try anything. It will help that he will be her Jonin sensei when she is assigned a team. I can't help but wonder if she would get along with her teammates.
