Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.

A/N: Sorry if this chapter is boring, I needed to get this part out of the way. I tried to make it interesting though. Sorry for the wait. I've been dealing with a lot of stuff so I haven't had a ton of inspiration lately. 10k reads! I can't believe it.

Tai was looking around at the concrete walls. Her mind was racing a mile a minute. They needed to find a way to get out of there fast. Tai started gnawing on her fingernails. They weren't lost. No, Tai was worried about running into someone that might get them in trouble. Seeing as they were currently on the run, it wouldn't do for them to be found out and recaptured. Akira stood beside her, chain and collar still around her neck. Tai started to breath heavier and faster, looking around frantically.

"Tai!" Akira called out in a hushed shout. "Calm down. We can get out of here. I don't think the Hokage is in the building anymore." Tai seemed to relax a bit at her words and let out a shaky breath.

"Okay... Okay..." Tai said as she closed her eyes and sighed. They could do this. They just need to get out of the building. "This way." Tai said, moving down a hallway she remembered coming in through. As they were walking down the hallway, she heard voices.

"Yeah, that's what she said." One of them said. The rest of them laughed, oblivious to the girl sneaking up to get a better look at them. Tai poked her head around a corner and saw them. There were three ninja leaning on a wall. Tai was lucky their guards seemed to be down or they would have noticed her. She only really got a good look at the first guy. He had brown hair and chuunin gear on. One seemed to look in her direction and she quickly retreated back behind the corner. It was a good thing she didn't have to go that way.

But now she had a plan.

She walked down the halls and towards where she knew the doors to be. As she got closer, she shifted her appearance to look like the one guy she saw. She suspected he was a worker here and if that assumption was correct, she could easily leave without causing much suspicion.

She started walking past the front desk. "Oi! Yamada! Where do you think you're going? Your work hasn't ended yet." The person at the front desk asked. She had to think quickly and she grabbed the chain that Akira had still attached.

"Found my dog wandering around this place. Must have followed me to work. I'm just leading her out." Tai said, hoping he didn't remember Akira from when they came in. The man peered at her for a moment before replying.

"Very well. But I expect you right back here." Tai nodded her head and walked outside. After she seemed them a safe distance away, she changed back and put a hand on her chest in an attempt to quell her racing heart. She let out a deep breath and relaxed her shoulders. Next to her, Akira flopped to the ground in relief.

"What do we do now?" Akira asked Tai. Tai looked down at Akira before coming to a decision.

"You need to go back to the house." She said. "Your pups are there. You can't just leave them behind. Take them someplace safe. Don't stay in the house. The Hokage is bound to look there when he realizes we left." Akira looked like she was at a loss for what to do. It was true that she needed to take care of her pups first and foremost but she didn't want to leave Tai to journey alone. With a frustrated growl she grudgingly realized that Tai was tight and ran back to the house.

Tai knew she was probably going to get lonely but she really couldn't do anything about it. The pups were more important. Tai looked around her. If she was going to get to where her team was she was going to have to move fast. She only had the memory of the anime to go off of. Luckily she knew where they left from so hopefully there was an easy path. She would probably have to get to them before they went on the boat though. She would easily get lost in the expanse of water.
