Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.
A/N: I know I just posted today but I ended up finishing this chapter as well. I'm sort of iffy about this one though as quite a bit is revealed. I just hope I don't fuck this fanfic up.
Ino just looked at Tai, getting ready to do the jutsu. Tai had managed to figure out what was happening. She was confused at first when Ino walked in but now she gets it.
She was going to invade her mind.
Wonder how that's going to go. After all, Tai didn't know half the stuff that happened in her mind anyway. Before they knew it, Ino was in Tai's head.
Ino's POV
I entered Tai's head and was met with a very... Strange... Sight. I was standing in an amusement park. Half of the park looked run down while the other half looked perfectly fine. There seemed to be a little girl walking around the park too. I was curious. People's minds reflected what went on in their head. It didn't make sense for part of the amusement park to be run down. There seemed to be an invisible line between the run down desolate part and the happy, normal part of the park. I cautiously went to approach the little girl. There shouldn't even be anyone in here. I place my hand in one of the little girl's shoulders and she turns around.
...It was horrifying...
She had no eyes. Just an empty darkness. Her mouth was pulled into a permanent grin. I fell back on my butt, staring at the child.
The little girl just grinned and looked at her with those soulless pits of darkness. I heard giggling and my eyes swivel to the side. There was Tai. She was standing there. She didn't have her normal clothes on. In their place was a white hospital gown.
"Aww. Doesn't Amanda have such pretty green eyes?" Tai asked, going to hug the little girl. Is she crazy!? That girl has no eyes!
"What are you talking about!? Are you crazy? That girl has no eyes! And what's with that creepy run down area?!" I scream at her. My body is shaking. She looks at me in total confusion.
"Don't talk about Amanda like that! Look, you made her upset." Tai motioned to the little girl. Apparently her name was Amanda. The little girl Just grinned at her before giggling mockingly. The giggle was completely hollow of any emotion. "And what the hell do you mean 'run down part'? The park is perfectly fine!" Tai said. I looked over to the girl and then to the run down part of the amusement park. Everything over there seemed grey and dull. Nothing was moving over there. It was almost as if time stopped. I grabbed Tai's hand and dragged her over to the run down part of the park. The closer we got to the invisible line that separates the good and bad parts of the park the more uncomfortable Tai seemed. I dragged her right in front of the line when she just stared at it for a moment. She kneeled down on the ground and screamed as if she was being murdered. She clutched her head and was shaking ferociously. The whole amusement park shook. The good side of the amusement park started to rot away. Amanda stood there, looking furious. I jumped back, scared. I pulled Tai away from the line. It seemed to be the cause of her pain.
The pain seemed to subside and Tai calmed down a bit. The amusement park went back to normal. "What was that!?" I asked her, panicked.
"I... I don't know." She said, she sounded scared too.
Tai's POV
After Ino performed the jutsu on me everything went black. Then I found myself in some sort of amusement park. The amusement park was lively with people enjoying their time. Is this... My mind? I started wandering around. I saw a little girl walking around alone and decide to approach her. I tapped on her and she turned around. She had brown hair and bright green eyes. She had a small innocent smile on her face.
"Hi, your eyes are pretty. Do you know where we are?" I asked the little girl. She giggled at me.
"We are in your mind of course. My name is Amanda." The little girl, Amanda, said. "You can have lots of fun in here. Just don't go over to that area." She pointed off in the distance to a place that looked perfectly normal and I couldn't help but wonder why I couldn't go over there. It seemed just as lively and fun as the rest of the park.
"Why?" I asked. The little girl stopped smiling for a moment before it came back. However, this time it was strained, holding no real kindness or happiness.
"Secret." She said childishly, putting a finger up to her mouth. I frowned slightly and my brows furrowed in confusion but nodded my head anyway.
My mind drifts to other matters. If I'm in here, doesn't that mean that Ino is in here as well?
I bid goodbye to Amanda and start to wander around the place, careful to not go where Amanda told me to not go. After wandering for a minute, I see Ino on the ground, staring at Amanda horrified. One part of me wants to laugh at the hilarious sight but another part of me feels that something is... Off. There is a look of pure horror on Ino's face. I brush it off and go over to Amanda.
"Aww. Doesn't Amanda have such pretty green eyes." I say, hugging the little girl. She looks up at me with a smile.
"What are you talking about!? Are you crazy? That girl has no eyes! And what's with that creepy run down area?!" She screams at me pointing to the area Amanda told me not to go to. I feel something tug at the back of my brain. Like déjà vu. I brush it off and look down at Amanda. She had tears prickling in the corner of her eyes.
"That's not true! I have eyes." Amanda says. I look back up at Ino with anger and confusion. It appeared as if Ino didn't even hear Amanda and was just staring at me, waiting for an explanation. What the hell is she even talking about?
"Don't talk about Amanda like that! Look, you made her upset." I said, motioning to Amanda who was on the brink of tears. "And what the hell do you mean 'run down part'? The park is perfectly fine?!" I knew it wasn't though. There was something wrong with this park and I'm not sure if I want to know what it is.
Ino surprised me by taking my hand and pulling me over to the part of the park Amanda said not to go to. A dull throb goes through my head and more follow it. My ears start ringing and before I know it, I'm on the ground, screaming my lungs out. My hands fly up to my head in an attempt to stop the pain. Images flash before my eyes.
Needles... White walls... Blood... The images start to get more clear. I can hear rain voices now.
"Been three years... Erase it." A gruff voice says.
"No! Xyn!" Another voice wails.
I feel a hand on my arm, dragging me back. The voices and images start to fade away.
"What was that?!" Ino asked me. My mind was still trying to keep up with all that was happening.
"I... I don't know." I said. It was half true. I'm not an idiot. I know I just saw a memory. One that I had apparently lost. Three years... What could that mean. They said erase it... Could they have been talking about my memory? And who the hell is Xyn? I used that name as my code-name on my first mission but the name itself doesn't hold any real meaning to me. There is one thing I know for sure though.
I sure as hell am not 10 years old. I'm 13. I need to figure out what happened in those three years I can't remember.
