The return from their honeymoon felt like an abrupt crash back into reality

The return from their honeymoon felt like an abrupt crash back into reality. The warmth of the villa, the laughter-filled days, and the freedom of being openly with the people they loved seemed like a distant dream as the airport came into view. Y/N, Namjoon, Jin, and Hoseok exchanged small, supportive glances as they walked through the terminal, unspoken promises hanging in the air. They were stepping back into their old lives, only this time with an arrangement that was going to test every boundary they had.

Their new home—Y/N and Namjoon's sprawling house, gifted as a wedding present by both their families—loomed in front of them, elegant but cold, like a gilded cage. Y/N and Namjoon exchanged a glance, sharing the weight of the responsibilities that came with it. Jin and Hoseok, carrying their suitcases, followed close behind, casting hesitant looks between each other. Moving in together had seemed like the perfect plan back on the beach, but now that they were back, the reality of the situation began to settle in.

Once inside, they took a moment to breathe, letting the familiar, subtle scent of fresh flowers and new furniture remind them of the life they were stepping into. The grand, high-ceilinged living room, adorned with opulent decor their parents had carefully selected, was overwhelming. The very walls seemed to whisper the expectations now weighing down on Y/N and Namjoon.

"This is it," Namjoon muttered, running a hand through his hair. He managed a weak smile as he looked around. "Home sweet home."

Y/N gave a small nod, looking between Jin and Hoseok. "It's... it's just a house. It'll feel like home eventually, right?"

Hoseok's hand found hers, giving it a gentle squeeze. "We'll make it feel like home. One day at a time."

Namjoon looked toward Jin, his eyes softening at the sight of his best friend. Jin gave him a small, reassuring smile, though his eyes betrayed his own uncertainty. It was one thing to plan out this arrangement in theory, but now that they were standing in this cold, cavernous house, the weight of it felt much heavier.

They unpacked slowly, each of them taking turns setting up their rooms. They didn't say much as they arranged their spaces, each person lost in their own thoughts, but the silence was comfortable, a shared understanding threading them together. It wasn't perfect, but at least they had each other.

As evening fell, the silence was broken by a call from Y/N's mother, inviting them to a family dinner the following night. The summons wasn't optional, and Y/N felt a wave of dread settle in her stomach. It was the first real test of their arrangement, and the weight of it felt heavy.

The next evening, Y/N and Namjoon arrived at her parents' house, the imposing mansion gleaming under the setting sun. Y/N took a deep breath, bracing herself before she looked over at Namjoon, whose jaw was set with determination. She reached over, taking his hand, and they both put on the practiced smiles they'd perfected before the wedding.
