"come on, get up" fambie said as she knocked on the wall of monae's rented room "ughh, why" monae groaned "khia made you some chicken tenders as you requested and we have guest" fambie said making monae shoot up.
"guest?" she repeated in a questioning tone "yup, now be down in less than fifteen minutes" fambie said before leaving the room, making sure she closed the door behind her.
"guest.." monae mumbled as she got up and walked over to the full body mirror in her room, she took her scarf off and fixed her edges, leaving her with her pink hair, an oversized hoodie, and some shorts that were only visible if she lifted her arms.
"i hope i look appropriate" she said, biting down on her lip nervously as she slid on some black socks before going downstairs.
"look who's finally out of the room" quan said causing their attention to shift to monae "my head was still hurting from last night" monae announced as she walked over to the island counter and sat down.
"does it still hurt?" khia asked and monae shook her head "no, i'm fine now" monae said with a smile before it dropped, realizing she hadn't spoke to the guest.
monae turned around in her seat being met with bk and gio who were casually chilling on the couch, "hey guys" she waved and brooklyn sent her a soft tight lipped smile "hey man" gio waved.
"we're y'all's heads hurting this morning too?" monae asked "hell yea" they said at the same time "i'll come over there when im done, hold up" monae said before jogging upstairs.
she went to her room and quickly grabbed her ipad before going back downstairs, smiling once she seen her food patiently waiting for her "thanks, khi" she smiled.

"so i heard you were modeling tonight" gio said with a questionable look which monae returned before raising an eyebrow "yea— how'd you know that?" monae questioned and brooklyn pointed to asadi.
"your brother, he said yall were modeling together" brooklyn said and monae looked back at the boy who was making a trip out tiktok before shaking her head "surprise" monae said with jazz hands.
"you don't seem happy tho" gio said and monae forced a grin upon her face "uhh..i'm very happy, i just don't know if i'm good enough compared to the other models" monae said—
not realizing how much brooklyn was observing her, she was starting to learn more and more about the girl each second of the day.
"comparison destroys personality" brooklyn said causing monae to look at her "is this your first time?" she asked and monae nodded, watching as gio walked away through her peripheral vision.
