098 - Sailing Ship

Despite having flights back to back, it's Cody's first time to walk out of the plane and through the busy airport on his own feet.

He forgot how nerve wrecking it is to walk beside Derek. He's been too comfy around the man and that made him forget Derek is the infamous CEO of a well known company. The crowd of reporters swarming the airport is not something out of the norm. But this time, the crowd is significantly bigger than their other airports and unfortunately, Cody can't use Derek as a shield this time.

With that in his mind, he insisted that he should be wearing his suit since he's going to stand beside the CEO, looking all majestic with his grey three piece suit. He should match his boss's standard.

His persistent behaviour paid off as they were girdled with reporters and had to be escorted by at least four bodyguards to their awaited car.

He can't imagine if he just went on with the CEO's claim to just wear his pajama. His face would be on the news with the title 'Derek Collen just landed at the airport, spotted with a boytoy'. Those reporters would gobble up the opportunity for money.

Although the flashing of their cameras scaring the shit out of Cody, he stayed at a professional distance from Derek. His urges to cling onto the CEO escalated as they walked through the sea of people - reporters and passengers - but remained composed while focusing on following the CEO.

Harry had the door open ready for Derek but he let Cody that was about to go to the other side, get in before him.

Once the door closed, Derek checked if the boy's okay. It took him a few seconds to regain his strength and nod. The CEO ruffled Cody's hair as he knew it scared him.

It should be him asking the CEO if he's okay since the cameras were all pointing at him. But this is the more reason for Cody to admire Derek. The flashes went crazy once they stepped in the registration. It took Cody by surprise and blinded the boy, resulting in him to be out of breath and a bit shaky.

Unlike the boy, the CEO remained indifferent in the overwhelming flashes. His eyes straight ahead and completely unbothered walking in the crowd.

Perhaps he got used to it by now but it still amazed the boy.

After what Cody went through, all he wanted was to go home but the CEO refused to let him go. Not when he's looking all pale and completely quiet. In Cody's current state, he merely nods and hopes that they will just go straight to the CEO's mansion as he was in desperate need of breathing space.

"W-Where are we?" Cody asked, almost whining when he noticed that their car parked right at the entrance of a luxury apartment building.

"My other place."

It was the first time Derek brought him there but the new place somehow put the boy at ease, unlike his first experience with the mansion. Maybe because it's a more normal place than his other, though Cody doubts it will be anything near normal.

They went all the way up to the top floor and Derek's penthouse was the only one on that floor. The boy can already see how fancy it is from the doorway.

When finally entered the penthouse, he was beyond surprised that he's speechless. The penthouse lives up to the owner's bank account. It's huge and it's his first time stepping into a huge penthouse that he didn't know existed. He might have to apologize to Derek for underestimating him.

The interior of the penthouse screams Derek more compared to his mansion. It has just enough furniture for a single man and is placed neatly. Despite its lack of furniture in such a big space, it doesn't feel too empty. Just the right ratio to a comfy place but among all, Cody likes the lighting in the penthouse. It was surrounded with glass windows yet it didn't feel too hot with the heat of the blazing sun penetrating into the penthouse. Just nice on his skin and made him all relax as he laid on the couch.
