AN EVENING ESCAPADE

I know I will always remember
that one fateful night in October.

In a spur of the moment,
Grabbing the chance by a promise,
We're down the stairs then out of the door
with the evening for us to explore.

Long grass tickle my ankles
while he and I walk together.
So close, our arms almost brushing
Making my cheeks almost blushing.

We end up beside a big tree
in a dimly lit garden.
Between stories and laughs we share,
He puts a flower in my hair.

I feel his hands tugging mine,
pulling me in for a hug.
Then he starts to sing to me
a song he likes from a movie.

He spins me around then holds me close.
Whispers "I miss you," as my heart race.
Under the twinkiling stars we dance,
Beautifully lost in a trance.
