The evening settled in with Initiations now over and Gojira's fight against the Beacon headmaster. Now it is time to party, giving everyone a chance of relaxation, mingle and have fun; all while getting to know one another in the ballroom.
A crowd of First Years were cheering for Yang and Nora, both girls sitting down with their respective right arms on the table and hands locked on tight as either of the two applied strength to determine who is the physically stronger one.
Yang snickered with a sly grin. "Give it up, Nora. I'm the strongest." She gradually pushed Nora's arm int he direction her hand is facing.
"Nuh uh!" Nora grins back. "You're no match for the power of my Thunder Biceps!" Now she is gradually pushing Yang, back in place where their arms are and now pushed Yang's to the direction her hand is facing.
Watching the pair were their own partners: Blake and Ren.
"Nora is quite a handful isn't she?" Blake remarked.
Ren sighed, closing his eyes and rubs them. "Nora can be, especially when it comes to her sweet tooth; however," He opens his eyes, looking at Nora with a fondness overcoming his gaze and lips curling upward. "Her happy-go-lucky nature does help get people to open up and step out from their comfort zone." He turns to Blake. "Do not be fooled for Nora can be serious and insightful when it calls for it for that is her true inner self. She is quite the social and likable person. Protective and supportive to people we have come across prior to our attendance here in Beacon for Nora wishes to be that force of nature to help anyone against the bad in this world and I too share the same dream."
Blake absorbs what Ren said, looking at Yang and thinking on Ruby. "Yeah, I am figuring that out that not all seems to be on front paper and there are layers beneath a person's nature. Based on first impression of Ruby and Yang, Blake thought of the former as a naive girl living in a fairytale world only she had witnessed first hand Ruby is fully aware the world does not operate like a fairytale book where the knight in shining armor saves the princess, gets the girl, and goes home happily ever after. Even displayed remarkable coordination and strategy back in their initiation, especially when Ruby finally got her head in the game than trying to impress Weiss that she is capable that led to impulsive actions such as with the Deathstalker. As for the latter, Blake thought of Yang as this type of person who would teach someone how to swim by pushing them in the water; and this is likely true since Yang is very straightforward and confident when the blonde pushed her younger sister to introduce herself to her during her reading time. Yang is the brawler kind and has a temper when it comes to even losing a single hair strand for the Ursai can back her up that Yang can be reckless and place herself in danger with that anger. However, Yang has show signs of maturity for she seems nurturing and motherly towards Ruby and likely extend to others given now they are in teams.
Blake flinches, clenching her hand as she thinks of how a person's true nature is buried underneath the surface and they are not who they seem just from first impression for they can surprise you if you open your eyes than be blind to what is on the surface. Can the same be said for Weiss? And what of her? Isn't she denying anyone seeing her true self?
Ren notices Blake contemplating deeply in her mind. Conflicted is she? Did what she or he say trigger her? Ren looks to everyone else and sweatdrops. Perhaps this would switch things up to get Blake out of her depression. "Well, it is hard to say if one's personality on the surface matches their true inner self."
