The Runaway Mate

Chapter 5

I walked in to see the pack slut, Jackie, making out with Rhett. Rhett must have sensed my presence because he soon looked up. I growled when I saw Jackie smirk my way.

"It's not what it looks like!" Rhett said while pushing Jackie off of him. She landed on the floor with a loud thump. I wanted to laugh so hard but I couldn't because I just caught my mate cheating on me.

"Oh yea?! It looks to me like you were just making out with somebody else!" I said as I started to make my way towards him. He watched my every step.

When I made it to him I slapped him. He whipped his head to the side with a big red hand print on the side of his face.

Jackie knew that something was about to happen so she left the room.

Rhett slowly turned his head to look back at me. His eyes turned to a bright red and that's when I knew that his wolf had taken over.

He came to me and then slammed my back against the wall. I struggled to get free but since he is an Alpha it makes him way more stronger than me.

"You do know that if you never ran away then none of this would have happened! I wouldn't have had to look for you! You're family wouldn't be so worried about you right now. And I wouldn't have had to kiss that slut back there." He said.

He was breathing heavily now. My eyes slightly widened at his words. I was afraid that he would do something that he would regret later so I touched his cheek. He looked down at me and his eyes softened.

"I'm sorry." I whispered while looking down. "You're right. I shouldn't have ran away. I was just afraid that you would reject me for somebody else." I told him while a few tears slipped down my face.

He lifted my chin up so I could look at him. He wiped away my tears and kissed my forehead.

"I would never go for anybody else but you. You're my mate Lydia. I could never live with myself if I did." He said while looking at me sincerely. He then put his head in the crook of my neck and smelled my scent.

I could feel his canines graze the spot where he would mark me. My eyes widened and I tried to push him away. My struggles only made him hold on to me tighter. I tried one last time but I failed. Before I knew it he bit me.

"Ahhhhhhhh!" I screamed and tears fell down my face. I soon started to slide down the wall and lay on the floor.

"I'm so sorry." Rhett said and that was the last thing I heard before I blacked out.
