The Runaway Mate

Chapter 11

"YOU ASSHOLE!" I yelled at him. My face was red now.

He laughed, "It was just a joke Lydia, calm down." He said while chuckling.

"A joke? A JOKE! THIS IS NOT A JOKE RHETT! YOU KNOW THAT I HATE CLOWNS. I WAS SO SCARED!" I yelled at him.

"I'm sorry." He said while getting up off the ground. "I'm really sorry." He said giving me puppy dog eyes. I tried to look away but I couldn't help it. He looked adorable.

"Your lucky that you're cute." I said with a small smile on my face. He just smiled back at me and hugged me. I hugged him back. I pulled away and said,

"I thought you had to discuss some business with the Starlight Pack."

"Oh! I already did early this morning. I had Max come in to tell me that I had some "business" to take care of. The business I had to really take care of was getting this whole thing set up." He said. Well, he had me fooled.

"Well damn. I actually thought you had to go discuss some stuff with them." I told him while walking back to the pack house.

He laughed but said nothing. We walked back to the house in complete silence. It wasn't awkward though, it was actually nice.

When we got back to the house it was around midnight and I was really tired. I went upstairs and took a quick shower. When I was done I got out and out on my pajamas.

I stepped out of the bathroom and into mine and Rhett's bedroom. He was already sprawled out on the bed. When I got closer I could hear the soft snores coming from him.

I laid down beside him and smiled. He looked so cute when he was asleep. Yes, I know, it's very weird to watch somebody sleep but he's my mate and he looked adorable.

With one last look, I turned over and got comfortable. I pulled the covers up over my body and snuggled my back against Rhett. He must have felt me get closer because he wrapped his arms around me.

"Goodnight beautiful." He whispered in my ear.

"Goodnight Rhett." I said.

'I love you' I thought to myself before falling asleep in his arms.

I'm sorry!! I know it's very short but I was in a rush. I hope you guys enjoyed it! But OHMYGOSH! I'm almost at 1k reads! I'm kind of freaking out right now! I'm so happy that you guys like this book. I only started this book for fun but then I realized that I actually enjoyed writing it. It's actually come really far now! Ily all!!
