The Runaway Mate

Chapter 6

I woke up and looked around me. I was in my room with somebody beside me. I looked to my right and saw Rhett passed out.

The memory of Rhett marking me without my permission last night came flooding back into my mind. I got up out of bed quietly and went to the bathroom. I looked at my marking in the mirror. It was fading away but you could still see a little marking.

I decided to take a warm shower. I stripped down and got in. I washed my hair and just cleaned myself up. When I was finished I got out and wrapped a towel around my body. I had realized that I didn't bring any clothes in here so I tightened the towel around me and went out to get some clothes.

When I stepped out of the bathroom I saw Rhett sitting on the bed while he was on his phone. He heard me come out and looked up. He growled and licked his lips. My eyes widened and I hurriedly grabbed some clothes then ran back to the bathroom.

I got dressed and dried my hair. I put my hair in a side braid then walked back out of the bathroom. After putting my dirty clothes away I went to fix the bed. When I walked towards the bed I saw a piece of paper lying on my pillow. It said,

'Had a meeting to go to. I'll see you later beautiful.'

I sat the note on my bedside table and began fixing the bed. Once I was done I walked downstairs to see everybody rushing around. I had no clue as to what was going on so I went into the kitchen.

I passed by many of the pack members on my way. When I stepped foot into the kitchen I saw the cook making who knows what.

She was an older wolf that looked to be in her early forties. She must have heard me come in because she greeted me with a 'Goodmorning!'

"Morning... Uhh, do you know what's going on out there?" I asked referring to the other members rushing around cleaning the house.

"Oh! Yes! The East Moon Pack is coming later on today to discuss some things with Alpha Rhett. So that means that I have to make sure that there is plenty of food for everybody to eat." She said as she put a pan into the oven.

"Oh. Ok, well would you like me to help you out?" I asked her.

"If you wouldn't mind. It would be a lot quicker if I had somebody helping me. My daughter Lynn is off doing who knows what." She told me.

"Oh it's no biggie. I have nothing else better to do today." I told her as I went to wash my hands.

"Thank you Luna." She said.

"Just call me Lydia. And I don't think I ever got your name?" I told her.

"It's Maggie. And ok, Lydia." She said and we both laughed then got back to cooking.

5 hours.

That's how long it took for me and Maggie to prepare the food for both packs. We were tired now.

"Thank you again sweetie. But you better go get ready cause the East Moon Pack will be here in a couple of hours." She told me as she started walking out of the kitchen.

I jumped off the barstool that I was sitting on and rushed upstairs to take a shower. I had flour all in my hair and who knows what else is up there.

Before I went into the bathroom, I made sure to grab my clothes this time. I didn't want Rhett or anybody else to catch me like he did earlier this morning.

I picked out a light blue dress and some heels to go along with it. I hung my dress on the door and started my shower. I stripped down and got in letting the warm water run over my body. I washed my hair and scrubbed my body with my strawberries and cream body wash.

Once I was finished I got out and wrapped a towel around my body. I dried off and put my undergarments on. Then I put on my strapless bra. I dried my hair before slipping the dress on.

I stepped into the dress and then started on my hair. I straightened my hair and then lightly curled the ends of it. Now my hair had light bouncy curls.

After that I put my makeup on. That didn't take as long as my hair did. Once I was done with everything I stepped out of the bathroom and went to put my heels on.

I walked to my full length mirror and looked at myself. The dress wasn't too tight but it hugged my body just right showing off my curves. I thought that this was picture worthy so I grabbed my Iphone and took a picture of myself.

I lightly laughed at the picture I took. The door suddenly opened up and Rhett came in looking mighty fine if I do say so myself.

He saw me checking him out and smirked.

"Like what you see?" He asked as he came closer to me.

"Wha- pshh no! I've seen better." I said looking away. I heard a growl and the next thing I knew Rhett was holding me close to his body and his eyes were staring into mine.

"You are mine. Only mine." He said as he nuzzled my neck. He kissed the spot where he marked me and it sent shivers down my back. He noticed because he smirked again but backed away.

"C'mon. The other pack is here and so is their soon-to-be Alpha. His name is Mason." He told me as we went to leave the room.

We started walking down the hallway when Rhett said,

"You look beautiful tonight."

It made me blush. He kissed my cheek and then we stared to walk down the stairs with my arm wrapped around his.

We talked to members from both packs. But when Rhett had to go discuss some things with Alpha Mason I was left alone with nobody to talk too.

'I guess I'll just wait until Rhett gets back.' I thought.

IT'S BEEN FOREVER SINCE I'VE BEEN GONE!!

I'm sorry bout that. But hopefully this long chapter will make up for it?! Haha!! :)
