COMING BACK TO the suggestion of splitting up, it appears that it's simply impossible to avoid. The mansion is far too large to examine without spreading ourselves thin. Daven is a valuable resource: he knows how to observe masterfully and has a talent for finding objects... his second talent is torture, which I'd say is not required in this case. Moyna, on the other hand, knows the smell of magic well, a strange trail her grandmother, endowed with eann blood, taught her to distinguish. Ainnir is clever and always makes wise choices.

Blair is a case apart; there's a specific command that activates to access his brain, which otherwise stays deactivated. Sometimes he's a fool and sometimes a life philosopher. I team up with him because Daven preferred to stay alone, and the girls have already started exploring.

The first-floor corridor has walls covered with a pattern that mixes purple and lilac tones. The candles, placed on crystal shelves, diffuse a soft glow, and small luminescent globes float around, scattering wherever they please. On the arched doors we pass by, there are representations of bottles and alchemical flasks. Our first searches are accompanied by the Vulpisillia, fox-like Spirits with bright green fur; small purple mushrooms grow on their backs, and when they reach adulthood, their tails turn into plant roots.
